The Hybrid Backpack 30L from @stubbleandco As I’m traveling a bit more for work, I needed an EDC backpack that could handle the day-to-day items and also pack a bit more for those short trips. This is where the Hybrid 30L comes in. The clamshell design allows me to throw a camera cube in the main compartment to house my camera gear, while I keep my laptop protected in the back laptop pouch. Toss in a tech pouch for all accessories and I have a bag that can keep me organized and travel effectively. I’ve yet to put this bag through its paces but initial thoughts are that it’s an incredibly well made bag. Sturdy zippers, stitching, and materials. The high-vis orange interior makes it easy to find things, and the back cushioning is perfect. This is by no means a sponsored post. I got a suggestion from a Viewer to compare the capacity of Evergoods PLC20 with CPL24 (v2), which I own. It’s a great suggestion. People who want to buy an Evergoods backpack may wish to choose from these two because they seem like the two best options in Evergoods portfolio if you are looking for an EDC backpack with an office vibe. CHZ backpack - the third option, looks much more like a school bag to me. You may want to choose based on several differences, like material, harness design or the most obvious one - CPL has a separate laptop pocket while PLC does not. I like laptop pockets inside the main space, but I may be in the minority. If these differences are not decisive, though, you may think that CPL has more capacity and choose based on that. Well, my experiments suggest that it doesn’t. Theoretically, PLC is 20l, and CPL is 24, but the latter seems to be a victim of a typical space deficit coming from additional walls. This is one of the reasons I don’t like separate laptop pockets. They have to consume a decent amount of space to be able to fit bigger devices, and when they are not used for laptops, they don’t hold many more items than documents or notebooks. Since I carry a tablet much more often these days than a full-size laptop, this pocket becomes a space that just isn’t used enough in my bags. In the above reel, CPL is almost fully loaded. Anything more, and I would either need to apply force to fit it all in or arrange items inside very carefully. I have used all the things I would take for a full-day business trip, a scenario which I usually use bigger backpacks for. After moving everything to PLC, it's also almost full, but nothing more.

For the last month, the @alpakagear Elements Backpack has been the pack that I grab when I’m getting ready to head out the door and work from a coffee shop, taking a quick weekend trip, and have even traveled to California for work using this pack (I definitely maxed out its capacity on that trip). While it’s not perfect for every situation due to it’s smaller form factor, I can honestly say that I’m pretty sure I’m going to continue to use this pack for a long time. Picking up this laptop always gets a reaction from me -- and then I notice how much I'm not reacting to its weight when I put it in my EDC backpack! The LG Gram Pro 16 OLED provides a large, vivid display in a laptop that is lighter than most notebooks with smaller screens. It still has the performance to back everything up, with Intel Core Ultra 7 processing and an RTX graphics card, all of which have helped me with all forms of work. But I can still play some fun games along the way, enjoying them further because of the OLED display.
