I have been kinda obsessed lately with creating my own custom watercolor paints that have the properties of both staining and granulating colors. It opens the door for some really interesting watercolor techniques- like creating natural color separation like you see in the petals of the rose at the end. All the @lindysgang Magicals are staining, so you need to use a granulating watercolor as your base. (and yes, the sparkles do show up in the final paint mix if you use one of the sparkly Magicals!) Hi! Magical Technique with Pigments and Stamps Today I’m sharing a different way to use Lindy’s pigments with rubber stamps. Place the stamp directly on the table, sprinkle the pigments on top, and let the water work its magic. As the colors activate and start to react… lay your cardstock on top to capture that unique effect The result: organic prints, full of texture, and completely unpredictable. Painting the background with magicals and stencils Approaching the background this way gives a bit more definition to the background rather than just sprinkling and spritzing the @lindysgang magicals. You don’t see the whole stencil design in the result but that’s really the point. By using a dry brush to spread around the watercolors under the stencil you are pulling color to more defined edges. I love the results! I created a cluster with elements from the Field Notes Collection I designed for @ardencreativestudio and mounted onto Arden’s colored card stock and called it done!
