New tech for the F-22 and F-18. The U.S. have invested in bringing Infrared Search and Track or IRST to its fighter fleet. While this tech has been around for awhile, the U.S. hasn’t integrated into its fighters for quite some time (e.g. the F-14…and EOTS for the F-35). IRST allows pilots to passively track and target off various IR spectrums. DRDO conducted a successful flight test of the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. During the test, all subsystems performed as per expectation. The missile performance was monitored by several Range Sensors like Radar, Electro-Optical Tracking System (EOTS) and Telemetry deployed by ITR at different locations to ensure complete coverage of the flight path. Soooo many questions! Tried to answer a lot of the main ones without going on too long. Here are some other tidbits⬇️ - We have about 20 of these machines, most are the electric ones with a couple of propane and the Engine on Top ones (EOTs) - It costs about 40k to install one of them - It is expensive, but relative to what we are saving (about $4 million worth of apples & pears… and that is not a profit that we make, it’s just what it’s worth) - Autostarts have been thought of, but they can be finicky, hard to rely on, and often times will not start or start too soon. And when you’ve got this much on the line, there’s no question that some sleepless nights are WORTH it. As always, I appreciate your interest and care ❤️ I love sharing this life with you. From what we can tell, we made it out fairly well but a lot of our neighbors got hit hard with damage/kill. Thinking of my Michigan & New York friends still in full bloom🥶🌸 #farming #apples #pears #wherefoodcomesfrom #applegirl
