Gene Simmons and Eric Carr in Vienna, 1981
A quick stop in the middle of recording The Elder. They were still wearing their Unmasked outfits, but had already cut their hair for the next era… so they had to use wigs to avoid giving anything away.
Gene kept quiet about the new album, only saying fans could expect “surprises.” A rare little snapshot of that strange and fascinating transition in KISS history.
What do you think of this pre-Elder era?

Here’s a rare slice of the Asylum Tour for you! 🎥
This clip of “Uh! All Night” is partially synced — the video comes from one show, while the audio comes from another date on the tour. Footage from this era is incredibly scarce, so every fragment like this feels special.
On November 30, 1985, KISS tore through Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium, drawing more than 9,300 fans for a night packed with neon energy, loud guitars, and pure mid-80s attitude. With Black ’N Blue opening the evening, the band fired off a set stacked with Asylum favorites: “King of the Mountain,” “Any Way You Slice It,” “Tears Are Falling,” the classics, and of course… “Uh! All Night.”
This show became notable for collectors because:
• Local TV stations used concert footage to highlight the tour’s kickoff 📺
• Howard Marks shot parts of the night for promotional material 🎬
• Roughly an hour of multi-cam pro-shot silent footage surfaced years later, circulating with audio from Little Rock 🎞️
• A few extra minutes also exist synced with audio from Charlotte, making these surviving clips even more unique.
A contemporary review nailed the spirit of the night: the band — minus makeup but overloaded with sparkle — charged across the stage while the crowd went wild from balcony to floor. Loud, chaotic, flashy… classic 1985 KISS. 🤘🔥
So even with the audio mismatch, this glimpse into the Asylum era is a real treasure. Enjoy it — and keep celebrating the moments that still survive from this wild chapter of KISStory.

Only ONE left… the Eric Carr – Unfinished Business blue liquid-filled vinyl 💙
Had to give y’all a quick spin + mini review because this one is WILD. The liquid inside the record moving while it spins is honestly one of the coolest pressings I’ve seen in a minute. 🌀
If you missed it on Record Store Day Black Friday 2025, this is your chance — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
👀 Watch the unboxing, see the spin, and let me know what you think.
📍Available in store now & Online! Link In Bio🔗
Grab it before someone else does.#rsdbf #rsd #ericcarr #curiouscollections #vinyl
We have some unfinished business to discuss, specifically Eric Carr’s Unfinished Business on liquid vinyl! 😱 We have two copies available. Just DM for local dibs! p.s. Unlike the picture disc crapshoot, where you never know if you’ll be listening to a paper sandwich or vinyl, these baby’s have all the audio quality of standard vinyl, so the only thing you’ll need to be terrified of is the price. 😂 $99.99. Strictly limited to just 3,000 units worldwide. ☮️❤️🔵 #ericcarr #kiss #kissarmy #liquidvinyl
