We recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge, and I want to share what happened with our trip — so other families can be prepared. Everything looked simple at first. Our room was fully prepaid, and at check-in, the balance showed $0. We had all confirmations and receipts ready. But after checkout, our total charges ended up much higher than expected. What we thought would be around $650 turned into over $1,200. Yes, we stayed an extra night — and that charge made sense. But there were additional amounts on our account that didn’t match any booking or package we selected, including a $250 “room package” that wasn’t in our original confirmation. On top of that, multiple deposit holds stayed on our account for more than a week after we left. Even after contacting the front desk, the amounts didn’t line up with our receipts. We’ve now had to contact our bank to clarify some of these charges — something I’ve never had to do after a hotel stay. The best part? The kids had a blast. We had a really fun time. But the unexpected charges afterward were stressful and honestly overshadowed the experience a bit. I’m sharing this so other families check their confirmations carefully, watch their accounts, and ask questions if anything looks off.
