“Bulls on Parade” – Rage Against the Machine (1996, Live at Pinkpop Festival, Landgraaf, Netherlands)
Released as the lead single from Evil Empire, “Bulls on Parade” became one of Rage Against the Machine’s most direct critiques of American militarism. Its title refers to the machinery of war—corporations, politicians, and military leaders—that “parade” as they profit from conflict.
The live performance at Pinkpop 1996 came just weeks after the album’s release, bringing the song to a massive European festival audience. Tom Morello’s signature wah-driven riff and Zack de la Rocha’s relentless delivery turn the track into both a rallying cry and a sonic demonstration of resistance.
The song’s lasting impact lies in its clarity. While many 1990s bands leaned toward introspection, Rage centered global politics and systemic critique, positioning themselves as one of the few mainstream acts openly challenging U.S. foreign policy and corporate power through music.

Evil Empire Album is 30 years old!
Rage Against The Machine- Bulls on Parade (1996) This song deals with the US military (the bulls) and their aggressive tactics. It mentions how the arms industry encourages war to get military contracts with lines like, "Weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes, not need, just feed the war cannibal-animal," and "What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and moving."
The song is from Rage Against The Machine's second album, Evil Empire, whose title is a reference to US president Ronald Reagan's description of the former Soviet Union.

« There has never been a time when any of us have turned to Zack de la Rocha and said, « We don’t feel comfortable with those lyrics. »
We have total faith in Zack and in what he’s trying to say in his lyrics. That’s his intrument.
If we criticized his lyrics, it would be like him telling Tom that he didn’t like one of his guitar solos. That just won’t happen.
I’m very proud of Zack. He spends so much time researching everything he writes about, which is why there’s so much passion and emotion in the songs. »
Don’t you think Timmy always has the right words during interviews?
I think so!!! 🙂

“Bulls on Parade” — Rage Against the Machine (1996)
Dropped as part of Evil Empire, “Bulls on Parade” stands as one of the most hard-hitting protest tracks of the 1990s. Blending rap, metal, funk, and hardcore punk, the band created a sound that feels aggressive, urgent, and impossible to ignore.
The song takes direct aim at militarism, corporate control, and systemic violence. Zack de la Rocha delivers every line with intensity and conviction, while Tom Morello’s innovative guitar work—turning switches and effects into scratch-like sounds—pushes the boundaries of what rock instrumentation can do.
More than just a hit on alternative radio, the track became an anthem for resistance—echoing through protests, live shows, and political movements across the globe. Decades later, its message hasn’t faded—it’s only grown louder.
🔥 Raw. Defiant. Unstoppable.
This is protest music at full volume.

Temas como “Bulls on Parade”, “Vietnow”, “Down Rodeo” y “Without a Face” reflejan esa tensión constante.

🤯💥🔥 ¿Sabías esto? / Did you know this? 👇🏼
📌 Description in English below.
In 1996, Rage Against the Machine delivered a powerful social critique with "Down Rodeo" on their Evil Empire album. Tom Morello used innovative guitar techniques to create haunting, synth-like sounds without any actual electronics, showcasing his technical genius. 🎸
The track features Zack de la Rocha’s intense lyrics about inequality and the American dream. It’s a raw fusion of heavy funk and political fire that defined the mid-90s alternative scene. 🎤
A massive, driving rhythm that hits like a hammer. A timeless anthem of resistance and pure electric energy. ⚡🌌

Don’t ever let anyone discourage you or tell you you’re not worthy of a job/internship based on your GPA (grade point average)!
When I recruited for my jobs, I looked at the overall person and GPA was not at the top of my list.
⚖️ Extra Curricular’s (clubs, societies)
⚖️ Volunteer work
⚖️ Experience (internships/jobs)
⚖️ Interview Skills
⚖️ Passion
Trust me when I say that your GPA is worth a fraction than all of the above. So if your GPA is low, work on gaining other valuable assets (like the ones listed) to balance you out as a candidate.
You’re worth more than how well you do on a test, which varies based on the college and even professor that you had.
