130+ COUNTRIES UNITED TO SAVE MIGRATORY WILDLIFE FROM EXTINCTION 🐾 More than 130 countries came together at the 15th Conference of the Parties (CoP15) under the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals and made a major commitment to protect migratory animals from extinction. Leaders approved stronger protections for vulnerable species and their habitats across land, rivers, and oceans. The summit also launched new global actions to fight illegal wildlife exploitation and highlighted the urgent need for countries to work together as biodiversity continues to decline. One of the biggest outcomes was a strong resolution to ✅ protect jaguars, improving cooperation between countries and safeguarding wildlife corridors. Important progress was also made for marine and freshwater species like ✅ sand tiger sharks, manta rays, and Amazonian migratory catfish. There are still so many species I haven’t worked with yet, but a dream job is working in wildlife medicine. What makes you take action? For me, seeing habitat loss and habitat fragmentation in real life in Florida makes me want to shout from the rooftops that we need to stand up for wildlife. And it can feel like a losing battle. But we can all do our part! What can you do personally to help wildlife? 🪾Make your yard a haven for wildlife and encourage your neighbors to do the same. 🌿Plant native plants. 📋Sign petitions looking to protect our wild areas and species. 💌Write letters to your legislators. 🪏Support conservation groups by donating or volunteering.
