Factory workers play a crucial role in preparing mass-produced products for shipment abroad. After the items are manufactured, workers carefully inspect them to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects. Each product is then sorted, counted, and organized before being placed into protective packaging designed to prevent damage during transportation. Labels, barcodes, and shipping information are added so the products can be easily tracked throughout the global supply chain. Once packaged, the goods are grouped into larger cartons or stacked on pallets to make handling and transport more efficient. These shipments are then wrapped, sealed, and loaded into trucks or shipping containers that will carry them to ports, warehouses, or distribution centers around the world. Through careful organization and teamwork, factory workers help ensure that mass-produced products safely reach international markets and customers. Like this content? Violence doesn’t hurt billionaires, it hurts the working class. Blowing up Tesla dealers won’t hurt Elon. It won’t bring justice or change. But it will put hardworking mechanics, salespeople, and factory workers out of a job. These are real people with families. People whose 401Ks and stocks are tied to the company. People who depend on these jobs to survive. If Republicans were doing this, I’d be the first to say, “Stop. You’re hurting American workers.” If you want change, bring a real message and a real plan, not destruction. Violence doesn’t punish the rich. It punishes the everyday people just trying to make a living. #ProtectWorkers #ViolenceHurtsWorkers #WorkingClassStruggles #TeslaWorkers #ChangeStartsWithAPlan
We’re not new to this work, we were born for this work. 💪 Tap in to our podcast and learn about the unique history of our founders that led them to the revolutinary Community Centered Business Model™️ behind @southlacafe! . Growing up in the heart of activism, Celia’s parents, both factory workers and organizers, were deeply involved in socialist, communist, international and Black-led liberation organizations. Their distinctive approach to parenting not only shaped Celia’s childhood, filled with community organization meetings, but also instilled a profound commitment to advocating for people’s rights. This inherently political upbringing has left an indelible mark on every facet of her life, shaping her perspectives on international, national, and local politics. As we close out #WomensHistoryMonth, I want to emphasize the importance of commemorating and celebrating the women of America. The history of America is intertwined with courageous women: freedom fighters, soldiers, scientists, factory workers, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and more.
Over the past eight years Donald Trump and Joe Biden have reached for protectionism and interventionism, in the name of helping factory workers, at the expense of America’s wider economy. Since the country’s economic strength has been so broad-based, it has not been overturned. And for many years stimulus has provided an offsetting sugar rush. But tap the link in our bio to discover why this success will not be immune from politics for ever. Cover image: Peter Crowther/Alamy Animation: The Economist

China has 2,977 members of parliament in its National People’s Congress. But many of them are not full-time politicians. Some are farmers, factory workers, scientists, doctors, or teachers. Even delivery drivers and ride-hailing drivers have appeared among the delegates. China calls this “representational democracy” — trying to include different social groups in the political system. In contrast, many Western systems emphasize competitive democracy, where full-time politicians debate and compete for power. Two very different political logics. Which system do you think represents society better? ⸻ #TwoSessions #ChinaPolitics #ChinaExplained #Geopolitics #UnpackingChina Which system represents society better?
Factory workers in India are wearing head-mounted cameras to train the robots that will replace them. There are 460 million manufacturing workers in the world. We just figured out how to turn all of them into a training dataset. DoorDash paying couriers to film tasks was one thing. Workers instrumented on a live factory floor is a step change — and we’re only just getting started. If you like this kind of thing and want to stay close — join our community Frontier. AI is not 'intelligent' on its own. From factory workers wearing head cameras to professionals earning ₹14,000/hour humans are constantly training AI. Some are doing it unknowingly. Some are getting paid for it. The real question is: Are we building the future… or replacing ourselves in it? #ArtificialIntelligence #AIJobs #FutureOfWork #Automation #techexplained
Nike says its factory workers make nearly double the minimum wage. The Oregonian/OregonLive spoke with roughly 100 workers in the company's second-largest production hub. None said they made anywhere near twice the minimum wage. Read more at the link in our bio. #nike
