Our emotions aren’t problems to fix, they’re messages to understand.
They alert us to what feels safe or unsafe.
They show us what matters.
They help us connect, set boundaries, and grow.
Even the uncomfortable ones have a purpose.
When we stop fighting our emotions and start listening to them, they become guides instead of enemies 🌿
You don’t have to fear your feelings.
They’re trying to help you.
Save this as a reminder 💛

Ever notice how the feelings you try to ignore…
are the ones that come back the loudest?
The more you try to push emotions down…
the stronger they push back.
Emotions don’t disappear when ignored.
They just wait… beneath the surface.
Think of it like holding a balloon underwater.
🎈 The harder you push it down
🎈 The more pressure builds
🎈 The moment you let go… it shoots back up
That’s what happens when we suppress emotions.
But there’s another path.
🧭 The Positivity Map approach:
• Notice the emotion
• Allow it to exist
• Feel it without fighting it
• Let it move through you
Because emotions are MESSENGERS, not ENEMIES.
When you stop resisting…
⚫ tension softens
⚫ clarity returns
⚫ your mind settles
And the feeling that once felt overwhelming
slowly loses its grip.
You don’t have to control every emotion.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do
is simply let it pass through.
That’s where peace begins. 🌿

Ever say “I’m fine”… but underneath that is overwhelm, frustration, guilt, and maybe even a little sadness all at once? 🧠✨
You’re not alone—and you’re not “too much.” You’re just human.
That’s where the feelings wheel comes in. 💭💛It helps you move beyond surface-level words and actually identify what’s going on beneath the default “fine,” “stressed,” or “tired.”
Because here’s the thing—When you can clearly name your emotions, you:✨ Understand your reactions better✨ Communicate more effectively with others✨ Reduce emotional overwhelm✨ Start responding instead of reacting
Most of us weren’t taught how to identify or express our emotions—we were taught to push through them. But awareness is the first step to change.
And the good news? Your brain can learn a new way. 🧠✨Through intentional practice, counseling, and tools like neurofeedback, you can build stronger emotional awareness and regulation over time.
So instead of “I’m fine”…
What’s actually there? 👇
What’s one feeling you’ve been avoiding lately?

A•L•I•GG•N -> 5 Step Framework to Processing⤵️
ALLOW yourself to let it out, release, and express without sound logic. Express. Cry, hit your pillow, push against the wall super hard, groan and moan. Sit in the corner of your room that feels the most safe to you and weep.
LABEL the emotion you are feeling. Literally say it out loud. Tell yourself you’re safe, and okay, and that it’s okay to be feeling these things.
->(look up the "feelings wheel" designed by Geoffrey Roberts to help hone into what specific emotion you're feeling...
you're not just angry, sad, fearful, disgusted etc. go deeper.)
IDENTIFY *where* the emotion is being felt physically, the origin of the emotion. IDENTIFYing where you FEEL each emotion allows you to process your emotions and understand their origin (this will become easier over time).
GATHER your thoughts about the situation. This is when you can re-introduce logic. You're ready for that at this point. (what happened, how it made you feel, what exactly hurt your feelings, where is this hurt coming from and why)... &
GROUND yourself here too. Do something to bring you back to balance & back to present that you enjoy (singing, dancing, colouring, tidying, etc.)
NEEDS. This is when you think about things like how you would like to move forward, what changes need to be made, etc. Basically, this is where you evaluate your needs, the situation's needs, and what needs to happen to move on from this in a healthy way.
*to move on in a healthy way from both the situation, AND with regards to what you need after your session of emotional expression you just had with yourself. Usually we can feel drained after this and need to recharge 💜
REMEMBER:
Be compassionate towards yourself when you’re FEELING your feelings, without judgement, and be kind to yourself.
Feelings aren’t shameful. It’s okay to have them, even if others have made you feel otherwise.
As always,
I'm thinking of you,
- Ash

Using an emotion wheel expands your emotional vocabulary so you can describe what you feel with precision instead of just saying “good” or “bad.” #EmotionWheel #SelfAwareness #EmotionalIntelligence
I used to think if I could just control my emotions… everything would feel easier.
Like if I stayed calm enough, positive enough, faithful enough… I wouldn’t feel the mess.
But that’s not actually how it works, is it?
Because what we name… and what we actually feel are often two very different things.
We say, “I’m fine.”
Or “I’m just tired.”
Or “It’s not a big deal.”
Meanwhile inside… it’s a tangled ball of disappointment, fear, frustration, maybe even a little shame we don’t want to admit out loud.
And if we don’t slow down long enough to name it clearly… we carry it. It leaks into our reactions, our relationships, our thoughts about ourselves.
Not because we’re broken.
Just because it’s unprocessed.
That’s what we’re diving into today.
✨ How to actually name what you’re feeling
✨ How to sit with it without getting stuck in it
✨ And how to process emotions so they move through you, instead of running the show
Because your emotions are real.
But they aren’t always clear at first.
And they definitely aren’t meant to stay tangled.

What you resist, persists..

We’ve been taught to “control” our emotions - push them down, ignore them, act like they’re not there. But suppressing emotions is like holding a balloon underwater. It takes constant effort, creates tension, and the moment you let go?
It explodes back up even harder.
When you allow emotions to exist without trying to control them, something shifts.
You stop fighting yourself.
The emotion can float, move through you, and eventually settle on its own.
Next time you feel something uncomfortable, try this:
Don’t push it away.
Name it (“I’m feeling angry/sad/anxious”), feel where it lives in your body, and let it be there without needing to fix it or make it go away.
Emotions aren’t problems to solve - they’re messages to listen to.
✨ Save this as your reminder to stop fighting what you feel.
With love,
Nina

It's amazing how our hearts can hold seemingly opposite emotions at once. Just like a rainbow appears with both sun and rain , we can experience joy and sadness, hope and worry, all at the same time. Embrace the beautiful complexity of your feelings. ✨
You can feel two things at once—and both can be true.
