The flower isn’t created with color changes or added on afterward. It’s created entirely with knit and purl stitches working together to form subtle flower petals within the blanket. Finger knitting has always been my favourite way to introduce handwork to my kids. There’s very little pressure, it’s repetitive, they don’t get overwhelmed… and they can instantly create sweet little necklaces, friendship bracelets and endless chains. (I won’t lie… there are A LOT of chains in our house hahah) But they make the sweetest bag straps, decorations and little treasures to them. It feels warm and special in a way that’s hard to explain. It’s also amazing for fine motor skills and such a beautiful confidence builder before introducing knitting needles. We always use this little rhyme… Wrap it around the log, Over jumps the frog, Pull the possums tail, And away we go 🦋 Would your little ones love this? #knitting #fingerknitting #learntoknit #kidscraft
