Today, we mourn the loss of Charlie Kirk, he was a voice that stirred debate, championed conviction, and rallied the youth to believe they mattered. At just 31, he was taken from us in a senseless act of violence while speaking at Utah Valley University as part of his “American Comeback Tour.” Charlie helped build a movement: founding Turning Point USA in 2012, he inspired thousands of young people across campuses to engage in civic dialogue, even with those they disagreed with. He used his platform, his debates, his books, and his podcast not just to spread conservative values, but to argue for free speech, limited government, and the importance of each individual’s voice. He leaves behind grieving loved ones, but also a legacy that challenges us to carry forward what he believed in: courage, conviction, and the willingness to lean into difference. When your wife catches a monster from shore! This sure was a surprise while fishing at Fish Lake this weekend. She caught this Splake with a Kastmaster, and only 6lb line. Fishlake National Forest is a gorgeous natural area in central Utah, spanning over 1.5 million acres of diverse terrain. The forest is named after its largest natural lake, which is a popular spot for fishing and boating. Fishlake National Forest is home to a many animals, including elk, deer, and a variety of birds. It is also home to Pando, a colony of quaking aspen trees that share a 80,000 years old root system spanning 106 acres - making it one of the oldest and largest living organisms in the world. You can camp for free in many areas of Fishlake National Forest; there are no fees for dispersed camping in this public land. Just remember to follow Leave No Trace principles when you visit. Like many of the National Forests, Fishlake is a “working forest”, meaning parts of the area are used for ranching and logging, overseen by the U.S. Forest Service.
