Bengaluru’s ₹1 Clothes Bank is helping restore dignity to the needy. Started by Vinod, Vignesh, Melisha & Nitin, it began as a college project. But during the pandemic, they saw daily-wage workers and migrant families struggling for basic clothing. Pooling their savings and collecting donations, they launched a ₹1 Clothes Bank—where the poor could shop with dignity. With no volunteers or space, they began from a kind stranger’s apartment. Today, they’ve helped over 25,000 people and revived 3–4 lakh garments. “Youth must rise—by volunteering or donating. Helping the vulnerable is everyone’s responsibility,” they say. Loved the video? Meet Ittisha Sarah (@ittisha.sarah), a Force For Good Hero who traded a conventional career for the rugged terrain of the Eastern Himalayas to solve a mounting environmental crisis. After witnessing the pristine Sangti Valley in Arunachal Pradesh struggling under the weight of tourist-led pollution, Ittisha moved to the region to build a solution from the ground up. Today, through the Northeast Waste Collective, she is proving that the most effective social design is one that listens to the land and its people.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Aditya Birla Group × Brut celebrates the visionary spirit behind this community-driven conservation. Rather than imposing outside systems, Ittisha integrated waste management into the spiritual fabric of the local Monpa tribe, aligning collection cycles with their sacred lunar calendar.
