Happy International Day of Forests! 🌲✨ New York has one of the most ambitious reforestation goals in the country: to plant 680 million trees by 2040. Meeting that scale of tree planting starts with seedlings today. Through The Nature Conservancy’s Nursery Incubation Program, partner nurseries—including Swiftwater in Lockport and Native Forest Nursery NY in Jamestown—are expanding their capacity to grow the seedlings essential for restoring forests across the state. These seedlings are more than future trees—they’re the foundation for cleaner air and water, healthier wildlife habitat and more climate resilient communities. 🌱💚 Read the full story linked in bio
Keith and Alex attended a pocket forest tree planting day with the amazing @reforest_nation where we joined in by planting 10 trees for St Laurence's BNW of the approx 1000 planted in the day! 🌲 We plant 1 tree for every kilowatt we install - all part of our vision for a sustainable future for all. ♻️ #WeCare #TreePlanting #Solar #RenewableEnergy #SustainabilityMatters
Today, on International Day of Forests, it’s worth recognizing what forests quietly hold together. Communities, economies, water systems, and a significant share of the carbon cycle that shapes our future. #InternationalDayOfForests #ClimateSolutions #Forests #NatureBasedSolutions #Sustainability #KarbonX

Tree planting asks something simple of us: believe in tomorrow, and build it anyway.
🌳 International Day of Forests: More Than Trees — It’s Life Support Recently, the world marked the International Day of Forests (March 21) — a day dedicated to recognizing the critical role forests play in sustaining life on Earth. Forests cover 31% of the planet’s land area, yet they support over 80% of terrestrial biodiversity. They act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing roughly 2.6 billion tonnes of CO₂ annually, while also regulating rainfall, protecting soils, and sustaining millions of livelihoods. This day is not just a celebration — it’s a reminder. A reminder that forests are: 🌱 Our climate regulators 💧 Our water guardians 🦜 Our biodiversity reservoirs 👨🏽‍🌾 A source of livelihoods for over 1.6 billion people globally But they are under threat. Every year, the world loses 10 million hectares of forest — driven by agriculture, urbanization, and unsustainable practices. 🌍 What do we celebrate? We celebrate the value of forests — not just as ecosystems, but as economic, social, and environmental lifelines. 🌿 What must we do? Protect, restore, and sustainably manage forests — through data, policy, and community-driven action. Because protecting forests isn’t optional — it’s essential for our future. #InternationalDayOfForests #ForestsMatter #ClimateAction #Biodiversity #Sustainability Acumen4D
We don’t ask: where can we plant trees? We ask: where can trees restore the most life? 75% of the Earth’s land surface has been significantly altered by human hands. One Tree Planted is on a mission to change that. Our work prioritizes the restoration of 14 critical landscapes—places where forests, people, wildlife, and climate intersect. Where reforestation can weave broken ecosystems and fragmented habitats back together. This is how we rebuild the living infrastructure that sustains all of life on Earth. Our goal is ambitious: to restore 500,000 hectares of land across 5 global regions by 2035. Together, we know we can make it happen. Join us. Sometimes the most important things in life happen so gently that we barely notice them. This weekend held two meaningful reminders for our planet — 🌳 International Day of Forests 💧 World Water Day Forests and water sustain nearly all life on Earth. They regulate our climate, protect ecosystems, nourish soil, and support the countless species — including us — that rely on them every day. And yet, because they are always there for us, it can be easy to take them for granted. So today, we invite you to pause for a moment. Listen to the rain. Watch how water moves through the leaves. Notice the life that surrounds it. These quiet systems — forests, water, soil, and wildlife — work together in ways that sustain the world around us. At World Tree, this connection is something we think about often. Our work planting and stewarding trees is rooted in the belief that responsible forestry can be part of a larger commitment to caring for the land and the natural systems that support it. Days like these remind us that sustainability isn’t a single action — it’s an ongoing responsibility. One that asks us to pay attention. To appreciate what sustains us. And to continue taking steps that help ensure forests and clean water remain part of our world for generations to come. #worldwaterday #internationaldayofforests #worldtree #regenerativeagriculture
We’ve always looked at forests as something out there. But forests were never separate from us. They regulate our climate, protect biodiversity, hold our water systems together, and quietly absorb nearly 30% of the world’s carbon emissions. And yet, we’re losing them faster than they can recover. This World Forest Day isn’t about planting one tree and moving on. It’s about rethinking how we consume, build, and exist, so forests don’t have to keep paying the price for our growth. Because when forests disappear, we lose balance. So save this as a reminder, share it to start a conversation, and let’s do one thing today that gives back more than you take. • Buy less, choose better (especially wood, paper, fast furniture) • Support brands that source responsibly • Reduce paper waste where you can • Say no to overconsumption; it all traces back to land use • Support or volunteer with local conservation efforts What do you do already? From mist shrouded cloud forests to snow-covered boreal groves, every forest plays a critical role in supporting life on Earth. That's because the world's forests naturally clean the air and water, shelter 80% of terrestrial biodiversity, support 1.6 billion people's livelihoods, and help regulate the climate. At One Tree Planted, we restore these essential life-giving ecosystems where they are needed most. Every one of our projects is helping regenerate healthy landscapes that are filled with life. As the trees we plant grow, they bring back critical habitats, boost biodiversity, and strengthen nature's resilience. 🌲✨ On this #InternationalDayOfForests, we celebrate the beauty and power of forests around the world…and renew our commitment to restoring them. The air we breathe, the water we drink, the landscapes we love; it all comes back to trees. Let's grow a more sustainable and resilient future, together.
