Pairing the SKX007 and SRPJ79 with these @forstnerofficial bracelets feels as if I just got 2 new watches.😄 The taper from 22mm to 16mm (18.5mm at the clasp) feels and looks great on the wrist. The female end-links not only look better but also help with wearability for us small wrists folks. Obviously these two improve on many of the shortcomings of the OEM bracelet and some aftermarket ones. Rain sunshine or storm, I’m back again on the trail and the jubilee is back on the black bay. ..and with the rainfall, I’ve chosen to revert back to bracelets.. as much as I particularly love the green strap on this one, I must say it is nice to have the black bay a bit more dressed up. Some people say leather straps get too sweaty in summer and are best in winter.. for me, that’s a bit of a grey area. But yes, i think a leather strap is tricky to find the right time for and should just be used in moderate conditions - not in the rain and not in the extreme heat. Divers in particular are made for water and that’s why they have a bracelet, so there’s no question on that one.. the black bay is vintage inspired so it works but i wouldn’t put a modern submariner on leather for example. ..but how about other watches like a chronograph or a dress watch? Well, Dress watches with leather like the tank I would tuck under the sleeve if worn in winter, which kind of defeats the purpose of enjoying my watches (i admire them as much as I use them to tell time) .. but I’ll just roll up the sleeve again when I’m indoors so I can see it and enjoy it in all the different light conditions. Ideally you’d have a system like the Cartier Santos with a quick release leather strap AND bracelet - the bracelet quick release is quite uncommon.. But Quick release makes life easier to switch straps out, because the process of adding/removing a bracelet can be annoying (and damaging).. I suppose if you’ve at least got the straps on quick release that halves the tedious job… and it is tedious, Especially since I’ve almost lost 15kg these past months, so now I need to resize them all as well as fit them. I guess this is partly why that fusion between a sports and dress watch like what AP and Patek Phillipe do so well is really desirable. A go everywhere do everything watch (GADA) as they say. ..but watch nerds are like fragrance nerds - one is never enough.. and even for the black bay - one bracelet or strap is never enough. # Anyway, the jubilee is back on the black bay.. and what a joy it is. . #tudor #forstner #blackbay .
