I braved the ‘National Gallery’ on the first Saturday of schools Easter holidays to take this tour… …and it was totally worth it! @melissabaksh_ was a fab host! She was warm and welcoming and dove deep into each work we visited. Now while I studied art history as part of my degree that was not the case for everyone in our group and Melissa made the work accessible and interesting for everyone regardless. Exploring female representation through the ages and fostering really great discussion within the group about each work. The National Gallery like all the big galleries and museums of London can be overwhelming and hard to navigate so having someone like Melissa to guide us round and take us through such an interesting selection of works for their ‘Uncover the Iconic women of The National Gallery’ tour. Listen, I don’t go to museums often, but this is one I would visit again and again. I don’t wanna sound dramatic but this place completely blew my mind and moved me to my core.😆 We came in unprepared for what was to come, so every room and every piece felt like a surprise. It made us want to go back and read more about each artwork afterward…that’s exactly what museums should do. They should inspire you and motivate you to learn more.
