🍄‍🟫 Funga – the third queendom of nature – plays a unique and vital role in our ecosystems. In addition to flora and fauna, it is essential to integrate the function and significance of funga into global environmental and nature conservation strategies. That’s why the City of Vienna (@stadtwien ) has also enshrined this in its government programme. Like mushrooms, we also wanted to build connections. 🍽️ That’s why we came together for a cooking session with Giuliana Furci @giulifungi – founder of the @fungifoundation and driving force behind the fungal conservation pledge at the CBD Conference of the Parties. Alongside her, department heads from the City of Vienna, as well as mushroom experts and enthusiasts from various fields, joined us. Did you know that Amanita muscaria is an invasive species in Chile? 🍄⚠️ Originally from the Northern Hemisphere, this well-known fungus arrived in Chile with the introduction of pine trees and other exotic species. It’s an ectomycorrhizal species, meaning it forms associations with tree roots. The problem is that Amanita muscaria is increasingly being spotted in native forests, associated with trees of the Nothofagus genus (such as coigües and lengas), which normally form symbiotic relationships with native fungi. ONE DAY IN @fungafarm 🍄‍🟫 Funga Farm Refshalevej 159B, Kopenhaga Wyobraźcie sobie, że zaczynacie małe eksperymenty w domu, a później wasz eksperyment przeradza się w firmę, która zaopatruje Kopenhagę w grzyby. Świetna historia! Funga Farm oferuje piękne, ciekawe i, co najważniejsze, pełne smaku grzyby. Dzięki takim miejscom możemy próbować grzybów, które np. w Polsce są pod ochroną – jak maitake albo soplówka dębowa. To jest niesamowite, że możemy pobrać jedynie próbkę, a grzyby zrobią całą robotę za nas. A co najważniejsze – bez szkody dla środowiska. 🌿 Wydaje mi się, że pierwszą soplówkę w swoim życiu, którą spróbowałem w Alchemist, jadłem właśnie z @fungafarm w 2021 roku. Coś niesamowitego. Na spotkaniu: - dowiesz się, jak rosną takie grzyby, - czemu fusy po kawie nie są najlepszym podłożem dla grzybów, - wrócisz z paczką pięknych grzybów, - dowiesz się, jak ważne są czynniki wpływające na wzrost, - oraz czy da się oszukać naturę za pomocą temperatury i wilgotności. An amazing story! Funga Farm produces beautiful, fascinating, and most importantly, incredibly flavorful mushrooms. Thanks to places like this, we can try varieties that, for example, are protected in Poland — like maitake or lion’s mane. It’s incredible that we can take just a small sample, and the mushrooms do the rest of the work for us. And the best part — it’s all done without harming the environment 🌿 I think the first lion’s mane I ever tried — at Alchemist in 2021 — actually came from @fungafarm. Truly unforgettable.
