An immersive electronic & experimental music experience Arizona Latino Arts and Culture Center · Downtown Phoenix | On Friday, February 20, 2026, the Arizona Latino Arts and Cultural Center (ALAC) will present The Merchant Tapes: Sonidos Electrónicos, an immersive live music and performance event blending electronic, experimental, and genre-defying sound with theatrical storytelling and cultural nostalgia. Curated by Low Key Organic, The Merchant Tapes: Sonidos Electrónicos is built within The Merchant Tapes, a conceptual performance universe created and hosted by Phoenix hip-hop performer DoneOne TheFinisher. Inspired by a vintage VHS and DVD rental store, the experience presents each performing artist as a “Tape” within the “Store,” guiding audiences through distinct sonic worlds that feel personal, tactile, and cinematic. DoneOne TheFinisher serves as host and MC for the evening, with ALLHAILPAN as DJ. This edition highlights a cross-section of Arizona’s independent electronic and experimental music scene, curated to reflect both sonic diversity and a strong DIY ethos. FEATURED PERFORMERS Mark Matos — Solo desert-psych performer with a long history of emotional, evocative songwriting and atmospheric textures. Dutch Holly — Indietronica duo crafting a dreamy, ethereal sound that blends electronic production with melodic pop sensibilities. Courtney Odom — Quirky, live-looping trip-hop chanteuse who builds layered songs in real time with playful charisma. Gracklz — Dark-wave electro duo specializing in spooky sounds driven by shadowy synths, wild guitars, and pulsing rhythms. Adam Orta said: "As the new special events coordinator at ALAC, I have grown to love the Center and what it's known for, and I'm excited to carry on the traditions that we've had over the past 15 years. We are very excited to bring cultural diversity to our city through music, comedy, and entertainment of all kinds and provide uplifting experiences that we need so much in these hard times. Bandcamp calls his music “sizzling experimental electronic, alternatively dissonant and tuneful.” Working with Internet-ripped audio, field recordings, and personal samples, he combines Musique Concrète with modern digital processes through hardware samplers and software manipulation. Recent album QUADRANT (March 2025, Old Technology) documents a quadraphonic live performance in Austin. Co-curates monthly series Artifact. Featured in The New York Times, VICE, FACT, and The FADER. Performed at Art Basel Miami, CURRENTS, and across North America. PULSECODER Kyle Evans’ electronic music project crossing deep modular synthesis with chaotic digital glitch. Drawing from IDM, house, power electronics, and glitch, pulseCoder navigates the precarious territory between music and noise—a controlled collapse into chaos. Releases on Holodeck Records and Shadowtrash Tape Group. Evans is an internationally recognized artist who has performed at MUTEK San Francisco, Transmediale Berlin, GLI.TC/H, Currents, Blanton Museum, Dimanche Rouge Paris, and Vancouver New Music Festival. JAMES TALAMBAS Multi-disciplinary new media artist, composer, and Founder/Executive Director of New Media Contemporary. Creates site-specific, multi-sensory sculptures and performances through technology, collaboration, and visceral improvisation. ASH Generative and analogue artist creating visuals in TouchDesigner, manipulated through analogue gear and techniques. Curates immersive sensory experiences for dance floors and art spaces, pushing and blurring boundaries between digital and analogue mediums to create dynamic, transformative environments. Once more, we showcase @aztec_caves 🔵 Now performing “Never Before” live @the_falstaff_ for FOCUS GROUP 🟢🔵🟡🟠🔴 What isn’t seen is Aztec Caves explaining the root of this song. Created out of the curiosity from his son, Never Before captures the uncertainties of everything we haven’t done yet. An extremely fitting song for the debut event of Focus Group… something we had never done before. Focus Group is a collaborative project by @emmeffpearl and @grseptx that brings the creative community together for a small intimate gathering of conversation and performance. This performance comes from the inaugural Focus Group session, tagged 000-A, held on June 28, 2025 in the courtyard of The Falstaff located in El Paso, Texas. Vertigo is an immersive psychological ritual centered on gaze and illusion. Here, the spiral serves both as a visual arabesque and a passage that guides the audience into the labyrinth of consciousness. Visual performances and electronic soundscapes become complicit narratives, intertwining and流动穿梭 between physical and digital spaces, together constructing a perceptual realm filled with psychedelic uncertainty. Viewers wander the boundary between reality and illusion, experiencing the psychological game of chasing and being chased. In the contemporary experience where the virtual and real intertwine, every participant becomes a Scottie, forced to confront the phantom of their own desire within the vortex of technology, and to reconsider — whether reality is merely a fiction we are willing to believe. #audiovisual #visuals #visualartist #experimentalart #generativeart

AVX @avx_festival – Audio Visual Experiment – is a three-day festival focused on contemporary audiovisual art and creative technology, hosted at XVY Studio in Gdynia in January 2026. The program included concerts, performances, talks, workshops, and a collective exhibition built around light, sound, and spatial structures. The shared light stage for the performances was created by @ksawerykomputery, @ausgang.studio and @lumus.instruments, and hosted shows by @random_orb, @xces.exe and @holotrigger. All three studios also presented their practice in public talks. Michał Jurgielewicz @eclectictasteofbot performed OFFSHORE, and Piotr Ceglarek @this_is_brickmen led a two-day workshop on lasers and audiovisual systems. XVY also ran two sessions where participants could experiment with the software and hardware tools developed and used at the studio. AVX 2026 was the second edition of the festival, organized by ksawerykomputery, @elektrojakub and @stefan_stefan_stefan. The first took place in 2019 and was initiated together with Jakub Janik @expo_zweitausend and Arkadiusz Krupiński. The project was co-financed by the National Recovery Plan of Poland.
