3 Years of The Grove 🤯 A few words from me (Charlie): I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since we opened the doors of our independent, family built, live music venue, event space and party place. We’ve had hundreds of gigs, loads of events, cup finals, parties, markets, Nobby Solano, seated talks, a mechanical bull, absolutely all sorts. It’s been incredible. It’s never actually smoothly sailing mind… we’ve had power cuts, cyber attacks, burst pipes, till failures on the busiest days, year on year cost increases, that time the grease trap exploded… countless moments where I wonder what’s the point in doing it all. But then I give it a minute, and think about The Grove’s second year and we’ve done loadssss! We’ve had - the Patrick Topping takeover, the Carabao Cup Final, Nick Woltemade with GQ, School Assembly Bangers Bottomless Brunch (aye, really…), 500 fairground owners from the Hoppings, Mercury Prize Fringe events, loads of people’s special moments from work dos to hen dos, baby showers to birthdays, engagement parties to first gigs. Drag Shows and heavy metal, kids parties and Drum & Bass Raves, Andrew Cushin and 14 different blokes called Andy’s birthday parties. Pizza slices and summer cinema nights… I could go on and on. Running this place is a never ending clusterF*** of stress and laughs, working with some of the best people (shout out to Ellis and the staff) often on a shoestring and little sleep to produce some of the most amazing moments. I literally had my own Wedding in The Grove last July. We always wanted The Grove to be a place seriously for everyone - to see great live music, sink pints with mates, attend a proper variety of events, and celebrate your own personal moments. To celebrate our own 3rd birthday, we thought we’d stick to what we do best - throwing a massive FREE ENTRY party. So, on Saturday 21st March you can expect: > Full day of North East original Live Music (10 bands/acts) in the venue > FIFA Tournament and footy on the big screen outside > Old school gift party bags with random treats inside > Loads of Free Drinks (Sponsors TBA) > DJs and party vibes upstairs until late No tickets needed. No RSVP. Come along x
