What I eat in a day while on the GAPS diet #gapsdiet #gapsdietheals
This is my third time doing the gaps intro diet over the last six years of my life and it’s been about three or four years since l’ve done it. I felt like it was time for a giant reset being that I’d dealt with toxic mold, stuffing emotions from losing my mom and dog, and just general wear and tear from eating convenient foods last year when I was in survival mode. Being as we’ve been settled and out of our survival phase for a while now, it was time. 🤗 I am eating LOADS of collagen, gelatin, protein, fat and ferments. I cut out all grain, all refined sugar & even fruit (though I did try a handful of blueberries out of curiosity last week), no dairy besides small amount of fermented dairy, just cut out caffeine, and almost all veggies. I’ve really only been eating zucchini as my carb/veg. And it’s amazing. 3 square bowls of soup every day with ginger jellos or bone broth/tea in between meals. Only salt for seasoning. Little bit of raw honey in ginger jellos and that’s it. I have a pretty efficient rotation going. Roast whole chicken, use bones for broth and meat for soup. Repeat. The flow is real. And cost effective. Yea I know I need to eat more ruminant animals (my freezer is stocked full of it) but this has worked for me before and it’s working again 🤗 so as I’ll always say, you do what works for YOU. Some people do better with a broth cooked for less time. What I’ve noticed so far is my mood is waaaaay better. I feel much more in control of my emotions and more even keel. My brain is functioning soooo much more smoothly. I’m able to communicate with people much better already. My sleep is better when I go to bed on time! I’ve lost some water retention and leaned out a little (which as long as I feel good is fine) and I’m excited to keep seeing the benefits! This’s temporary and eventually I will reincorporate fruit and such but I’m waiting until I feel it’s right to do so. I’ve tuned into my body much more and love listening to her signals. That’s my update 🤗 Shilajit: @blacklotusshilajit CODE: grg20 Organ capsules: @heartandsoilsupplements CODE: getrealgf #gapsdiet #nutrition #ancestral #animalbased #holistichealth #guthealth

•A tailored GAPS / Ancestral fusion Diet• 🥩🍳🥑🧈🫐🍐🍎🍊🍌🥑🥕🥦 Hello if you’re new here, Mr2.5 years old has been on a gut healing journey for over 18 months as we first found out he was anaphylactic to peanut butter at age six months, with extreme eczema. At 12 months old he was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), High Histamine Intolerance, Anaphylaxis and serve food allergies. At 15 months old, he started his journey on a tailored GAPS / Ancestral fusion Diet which has involved several steps focused on reducing inflammation, stabilising mast cells, and promoting gut health. Strictly guided and mentored by our WONDERFUL Nutritionist @mypropernutrition_ For the first 10 months on the tailored GAPS / Ancestral fusion Diet he was on the first stage and was only eating, beef and lamb mince, 2 hour beef stock, beef tallow, boiled pumpkin, carrot, zucchini and cucumber. After 10 months we slowly introduced ghee, butter, eggs, homemade raw milk yogurt. Then after 14 months, we introduced some more vegetables and some fruits including avocado, broccoli, apple, pear, mango, blueberries, mandarins, and a few more. We are at 18 months on the gaps diet, we have a few more fruits to introduce including grapes, stone fruit (plums and peaches) and passionfruit. THEN, we can finally introduce RICE!!!! 🍚 😭 I’m so excited for this stage!!! Does your child/ren have food allergies? I would love to hear your journey below in the comment. Sending love and strength to you all! ⚠️ Disclaimer: I am NO health expert, what I post regarding my children’s allergies and health is all based on what’s worked for us and my own experiences. • • • #allergies #foodallergies #gapsdiet #babyfood #toddlerfood
Comment ‘RECIPE’ and I will send you my beef short rib casserole recipe 🥩🥘 . . When you are on a dedicated health journey like we are , preparation is key.. When we go out of the house I will always take plenty of snacks to ensure we don’t run out and I’ve always got something to hand 🗝️✨ . . *Matcha is not typically recommended in the early stages of the GAPS diet due to its caffeine content and potential to irritate the gut. However, once significant healing has occurred and you’re in the later stages of the diet, some individuals may tolerate small amounts of matcha, especially if consumed with plenty of fat (like coconut milk) to minimize its stimulating effects* 💚 #gaps #guthealth #guthealing #gapsdiet #mumandtoddler #whatweeatinaday #whatieatinaday
•ALLERGY GUT HEALING• We’ve been on a gut healing journey for our son, Mr2 (and a half), for over 18 months since he became anaphylactic to peanut butter at six months. At 12 months, he was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), High Histamine Intolerance, and severe food allergies. By 15 months, he began a tailored Ancestral gut healing diet aimed at reducing inflammation, stabilizing mast cells, and promoting gut health, with guidance from our Nutritionist, @mypropernutrition_ Environmental Factors: We focused on minimizing environmental triggers: - 100% cotton clothing, bedding, and plush toys - Filtered drinking and bath water - Using vinegar and water for cleaning - Homemade washing powder - Ensuring close contacts avoid makeup and chemicals Understanding MCAS and Histamine Intolerance: - MCAS: Inappropriate mast cell activation causing symptoms like hives and gastrointestinal issues. - Histamine Intolerance: An imbalance between histamine intake and the body’s breakdown capacity, leading to similar symptoms. Diet Overview: This tailored diet incorporates elements of GAPS, Weston A Price, AIP, and Carnivore, divided into stages: 1. Introduction Diet: Gradually reintroduces foods while monitoring symptoms, starting with easy-to-digest options like homemade bone stock and well-cooked vegetables. (This phase took Mr2 around 10-12 months.) 2. Full Diet: Once symptoms clear, other foods are gradually tested and added, focusing on nutrient-dense options. End Goal: To achieve a broad whole foods diet. Do your children have food allergies? I’d love to hear your journey in the comments! Sending love and strength to you all! ⚠️ Disclaimer: I am no health expert; my posts are based on our experiences and what has worked for us. #allergies #anaphylactic #mcas #gapsdiet #foodallergies
If you have histamine intolerance the first thing you need to do is start consuming meat stock. This helps your intestinal villi to produce healthy enterocytes. Healthy enterocytes will produce a steady supply of the DAO enzyme which breaks down histamjne. If you’re having histamine symptoms it’s likely that histamine is building up in your body due to inadequate DAO production. Believe it or not many people need to start with 1 tsp or less of meat stock. It’s very detoxifying and many people even notice detox reactions to 1 tsp. To make your meat stock low in histamine and easy to introduce I suggest making it with freshly butchered meats. They can be frozen but you don’t want meat that’s been aged for 40 days or something. If you’re very sensitive white oak pastures in America is a great source that is intentional about providing a vairiety of low histamine meats. GROUNDEDAPPROACH will give you $20 off your first order over $180. Using low histamine meat to make your stock will help you tolerate it better in the beginning. Once you start healing you won’t have to be so particular about sourcing low histamine meat! #histamine #histamineintolerance #guthealth #gapsdiet
trust me on this one yall. And if you can’t get it jelly enough to scrape the fat off like this- recipe is on my page! #bone broth #gapsdiet #holisiticnutrition
Don’t feel guilty! You aren’t doing anything wrong. Your baby just isn’t ready for meat stock or bone broth. I know how frustrating this can feel because you just want to feed them those gut healing foods. But some babies need a different approach to address their gut issues, detox and food chemical sensitivity. Some babies will need to heal their gut with targeted supplements before they can transition over to gut healing foods. Another BIG factor that is often overlooked in babies who react to meat stock and bone broth is their detox pathways. This is because it is the liver that is responsible for breaking down and excreting food chemicals. Is your baby reacting to meat stock? Follow @ohhealthybaby and send me a DM so I can send you my podcast episode that explains this in more detail. #foodintolerance #babynaturopath #gapsdiet #gapsbaby #babyguthealth #lailahelena #foodallergymom #babyallergies #startingsolids #meatstock #bonebroth #bonebrothdiet #glutamate #histamineintolerance #aminefree
The GAPS Introduction Diet is a therapeutic eating plan designed to help heal and seal the gut lining, reduce inflammation, and restore digestive balance. It is often used for individuals struggling with digestive disorders, food sensitivities, autoimmune conditions, or neurological symptoms linked to gut health. Rather than simply removing problem foods, the GAPS protocol focuses on nourishing the gut with easily digestible, nutrient-rich meals that allow the intestinal lining to repair itself. By supporting the body at a foundational level, many people experience improved digestion, reduced bloating, balanced moods, and better overall energy. How the GAPS Intro Diet Works The diet is implemented in stages, starting with the most gentle and healing foods, then gradually reintroducing more complex ingredients as the gut becomes stronger. This step-by-step approach minimizes digestive stress and provides the building blocks for tissue repair. Key Foods in the Early Stages: Bone broths and meat stocks – Provide collagen, amino acids, and minerals to nourish the gut lining. Well-cooked vegetables – Soft, easy-to-digest produce supports vitamin and mineral intake without irritating the digestive tract. Fermented foods – Sauerkraut juice, kefir, and other probiotic-rich foods help restore healthy gut flora. Healthy fats – Ghee, animal fats, and coconut oil offer concentrated energy and support nutrient absorption. Gradual Food Reintroduction Once symptoms improve, more foods such as eggs, nut butters, raw vegetables, and fruits are slowly added back in. This method allows the body to clearly signal which foods are well tolerated and which may still cause irritation. What the GAPS Diet May Help With The GAPS Introduction Diet is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but it has been reported to benefit people with: Chronic digestive discomfort (bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea) Leaky gut syndrome Food intolerances and allergies Autoimmune conditions Skin issues such as eczema or acne Brain-gut related concerns like anxiety, depression, and brain fog A Gentle Approach to Long-Term Healing #chefrachelhargrove #shauchalife #health #gapsdiet #me
