Unpopular opinion: I’m not a “big Pomeranian.” 🦊💅
I’ve officially decided the world needs a quick lesson in German Spitz history.
I am a Mittelspitz: the original Spitz type. A lifestyle connoisseur.
A fluffy white and cream dog of very high standing. ☁️✨
Yes, I know… the floof is confusing. But I am not a Pomeranian. I’m simply related to them (and slightly more refined, if you ask me).
If you spot me in a London café or strolling through the city, please address me correctly. The Spitz stare doesn’t lie. 🏛️🐾
🎥 Floof education, through my paws
Because good taste… also applies to dog breeds.

Meet Boo-Bee!
This little furry guy is our new intake. Through no fault of his own he ended up with us. He is a German spitz and he used to be part of a family for 2 years, but sadly their circumstances changed and they could no longer provide the life that a dog should have. Boo-Bee is a very friendly and playful dog, very clever and energetic. It’s truly a serotonin boost hanging out with him. His full story is on our website, let’s help him find his forever family ❤️🩹

I did Loki for Courtney 🤍
And this story touched me in a special way, because German Spitz have a very special place in my heart.
Courtney had to say goodbye to her first German Spitz after 17 and a half years together.
She said she wouldn’t get another dog anytime soon. Her heart was broken after losing Joe.
But that same year, on the very first day Loki was posted, she found him. He was 1 and a half years old and needed a new home.
And she couldn’t resist. He officially became part of the family.
And look… I have a Spitz too. Mooncake. So I know exactly what they’re like. Full of energy and completely silly in the best possible way.
Loki helped heal the pain of the loss.
He helped bring lightness back into the house.
He’s the kind of dog who celebrates like it’s the best thing in the world when you get home from work.
He sleeps on his back like a little human. I think they use their own fur as a pillow.
He loves his little soccer ball and is always ready for anything.
This tattoo is about recognizing that the heart can love again. And for me, as a tattoo artist and a Spitz mom, doing Loki made it even more special. 😍
Courtney, thank you for trusting me to tattoo Loki!
If you have a pet who changed your life, you understand. 🐾

German Spitz looks fluffy, but this breed is far from a soft toy. Alert, intelligent, loyal, and naturally watchful, it was built to notice everything. Cute face, sharp mind, strong personality. This is not a casual pet for careless owners. Full reel breaks down history, temperament, use case, and red flags.

5 unusual facts about the German Spitz you’ve NEVER heard before
#germanspitz #pomeranian #dog #dogsofinstagram
Your small dog isn’t “extra.” It’s bred.
German Spitz, Pomeranian, Yorkshire Terrier, Dachshund, Mini Schnauzer — all bred to be loud, all bred for a job:
🛶 German Spitz → bargemen on the canals
🐑 Pomeranian → herders in Pomerania
🏭 Yorkie → mill workers killing rats in English textile factories
🦡 Dachshund → hunters tracking badgers underground
🐀 Mini Schnauzer → farmers guarding the yard
The bark wasn’t a flaw. It was the whole point.
So before you label your dog “difficult” — ask what they were actually built to do. Training doesn’t erase instinct. It manages it.
