A dream that came true 💭
When I was 16 I dreamed of moving to Germany and studying there. 🥹
I worked hard to learn the language and worked even harder to get my bachelors & masters degrees and begin my career.
The journey was hard, yet career wise - rewarding. 💯
Still, a feeling of not belonging was part of my path all the way through, and this is when I realized:
❌ I don’t want to constantly be the foreigner with an accent and having to prove myself all the time.
❌ I don’t like the culture & the mindset. Work hard, rest on the weekends, buy fancy stuff, sell yourself to a corporate.
❌ Freedom could be a real freedom only with money. When you’re part of the system and pay your taxes, the journey to freedom is way longer in Germany compared to other countries.
❌ The weather is an absolute sh*t.
And from one day dreaming of living in Germany, it turned to - “I am not happy, I need to leave now.”
Almost four years later after leaving the country, I am thankful for everything I’ve learned and wouldn’t change a thing about my decision to leave. 🫶🏼
