I may be known as a baker but in my heart I’m a teacher and storyteller. My whole life has revolved around my love of baking, science and teaching . I have this great need to pass on learning. I love to tell stories , I’ve read or told them to thousands of children, I meet them occasionally. These children are grown up with children of their own and they tell me about their families and the things they remember from their times with me . I am so proud of these young folk and honoured that for a short while I was part of their growing and learning lives. Many say how much they enjoyed the stories I told , my treat bag of soft toys that I gave them as “prizes” . My family, friends and I came together to provide Christmas for 45 Military Families this morning.
This is our 3rd year in a row and what magic it creates in the eyes and hearts of all those who participate from the incredible families to us and everyone else. Big thank you to @achudd for organizing this amazing event and to all those who offered up these incredible families and resources.
It’s a gift to see my daughter Elle and some of her friends contribute and participate in such a great, meaningful initiative.
Got me thinking a lot.. What’s the line between giving your children everything and teaching them every thing? There isn’t one, do both! Not better investment than into meaningful experiences. Period.

Giving your presence and time can be exhausting when you don’t prioritise yourself.
People look to you as a source of strength and a pillar of stability but some days you need someone to lean on too.
The best person that you need is YOU and time by yourself. For me it’s mindfulness, exercise, time in nature and sometimes binging a whole series on Netflix.
That’s how I ensure that I always pour from a full cup.
