Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832) was a German writer, poet, dramatist, novelist, philosopher, scientist, and statesman, widely regarded as one of the greatest figures of European literature. Born in Frankfurt, he became the leading figure of Weimar Classicism, alongside Friedrich Schiller, and produced works ranging from the novel The Sorrows of Young Werther and the poetry collection West–Eastern Divan to his monumental dramatic poem Faust, which he worked on for more than sixty years. Goethe also made contributions to botany, anatomy, geology, meteorology, and colour theory, and served in government in Weimar. His ideas about art, nature, science, human development, and Weltliteratur (“world literature”) exerted enormous influence on European intellectual culture, making him one of the defining minds of the transition from the Enlightenment to Romanticism and modernity. #philosophy #literature #poetry #goethe #nietzsche

Ich unterrichte Deutsch. Deutsch ist meine Muttersprache. Trotzdem habe ich Goethe C2 im Hören nicht bestanden. Warum? Ich habe diesen Fehler gemacht: Beim Übertragen der Antworten habe ich die Beispielaufgabe mit auf das Antwortblatt geschrieben. Als ich es gemerkt habe, war die Zeit vorbei. Manchmal schaffst du die Prüfung nicht. Nicht, weil du kein Deutsch kannst. Sondern weil du einen Flüchtigkeitsfehler machst. Warum mache ich überhaupt die C2-Prüfung, wenn Deutsch meine Muttersprache ist? Weil ich fühlen wollte, was meine Schüler fühlen. Ich habe selbst Französisch und Englisch auf C2-Niveau. Ich weiß, wie sich eine Prüfung anfühlt. Und genau dieser Fehler zeigt: Es geht nicht nur um Deutsch. Es geht um das Prüfungsformat. Deshalb kann ich dir Tipps geben, wie du dich richtig vorbereitest. Nicht nur sprachlich. Sondern für die Prüfung selbst. Falls du Deutsch auf B2 lernst, kommentiere „B2“. Ich schicke jede woche neue B2-Wörter per E-Mail.

Writing and Speaking were the hardest of all four skills for me as I never practised them since A1, and I didn’t go to a class to study B2 or to prepare for my exams. I was quite lost in the beginning. I started with baby steps. But I pushed myself to do it every single day even if it was a tiny little step.
