6 things to do while visiting @gorockford 📍 Go on an amazing hike with @grettasgoats 🐐Enjoy some sunshine and laughter while walking with these babies. Trust me their presence will make you smile nonstop. 📍Visit @nicholasconservatory and check out their Butterfly 🦋 Exhibit. It’s running till 5/25 so get your tickets asap! Highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time as they sell out quickly. Incredible time to learn more about them and see them so up close. 📍@andersonjapanesegardens are a must while in Rockford. Enjoy its serenity and peaceful energy especially now when everything is blooming. You’d be amazed how many photos you end up taking here 🥰 📍We were pleasantly surprised how much street art Rockford has! If you want to do your own Public Art Trail, make sure to download an app off @gorockford website which will guide you where to go and what to see. 📍 River Walk is the perfect activity for biking, running, or going for a stroll. Take in all the beautiful weather while exploring all 10 miles of it. Plenty of parking too all around 📍 We all have to eat at some point right? Check out @psbrewingco for its yummy menu and some of the best views of Rockford. Just because summer is almost over and schools are back in session doesn’t mean family getaways are a thing of the past. You all know we recently took a road trip to @visitlakecounty and @gorockford with @enjoyillinois! After all, Illinois is the land of road trips! Last year was unprecedented so, this year it was more important than ever to create some instant childhood memories! Guess what, you can too! As we head into fall, there’s nothing like a scenic trip through Illinois to create lifelong memories. Kai is already asking when we’ll go back to Rockford! We had so much fun during our stay! If you check out my Enjoy Illinois instastory highlight, you will see all of the behind the scenes. What I loved about this particular itinerary is that it was a “hop, skip and jump” away from home and we were able to see and enjoy so much during a short stay. I highly recommend the @andersonjapanesegardens. You can schedule a guided tour or take a self guided tour. If time allows you can also have lunch on site! The historic River district is a thriving and bustling part of town with tons of shops, restaurants and entertainment. We did some shopping and dined well! The @midwayvillagemuseum is another must see! It’s a collection of original and replica buildings from the 1800s. The buildings have been historically preserved and are filled with artifacts from that period. They have daily tours and the guides are a wealth of information. If you’re looking for a way to enjoy some quality family time, as you head into a new season, check out the Enjoy Illinois site. They have over 80 itineraries from which to choose! Klehm Arboretum- Rockford, Illinois: Eerie Autumn Lights at Klehm Arboretum is a fall - themed walk with family- friendly decorations, yummy fall treats, a hay bale maze, and happy skeletons along the route! Take the lit path after stopping at the vintage food truck with fall- themed goodies. Enjoy the photo ops along the path to the nature- themed play space, then walk across the bridge, where you can admire the lily pads! Take a picture with Rockford’s biggest pumpkin, weighing over 1800 pounds! #rockfordillinois #gorockford @gorockford
