🌿 In the heart of Shanghai, a splash of colour and nature-inspired design transformed pathways into spaces of joy, movement, and connection. The @graphic_rewilding installation at @startmuseum isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about well-being.
Urban environments can be overwhelming, but when infused with biophilic design—patterns, colours, and forms inspired by nature—they become spaces that invite pause, play, and presence.
Studies show that art and nature in public spaces can reduce stress, boost mood, and enhance mental clarity. This is what creative placemaking is all about—shaping environments that don’t just function but nurture.

Incredible work by artists Catherine Borowski and Lee Baker, founders of Graphic Rewilding. Crafting large-scale, flower-inspired artworks that inject positivity into urban spaces. While they can’t fully replicate nature’s benefits, they aim to spark a deeper connection with the natural world. Their recent project, ‘New Nature,’ showcases vibrant scenes of nature in an industrial space. Breathtaking!

Graphic Rewilding, a design team comprised of @leebakerstudio @catherine.borowski is an innovative art project that merges the natural world with urban spaces through striking, large-scale graphic installations. This initiative seeks to reconnect people with nature by transforming cityscapes into vibrant ecosystems, using bold and imaginative designs.
Each piece of artwork brings elements of flora and fauna to life, creating a visually stunning and thought-provoking experience that encourages environmental awareness and appreciation. This graphic was inspired by the idea of practical reincarnation.’ Graphic Rewilding not only beautifies urban environments but also sparks conversations about the importance of biodiversity, conservation, and metal health in our everyday lives.

Meanwhile over in @graphic_rewilding 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Posted @withrepost • @graphic_rewilding When I was 19 I went on an ill advised and badly thought out bike journey in France with a friend 🚲 😱. Given how disastrous the trip was: no sleeping bags, crazy thunder storms ⛈ and collapsing tents… it’s any wonder we are still best of chums
Anyway, as we journeyed through the countryside we would stop, exhausted, at many of the churches 🕍, to get out of the heat, drink some Yop and to fill our eyes with the gothic incredibleness.
I remember finding the simplest of chapels, just a stone box really, but with one small circular stained glass window high at one end. I’m not religious but in the silence the effect was utterly serene.
Graphic Rewilding has since created several stained glass ideas in derelict buildings, and as you see, we are developing new coloured glass ideas for public spaces. I’m looking forward to seeing where it all leads.
DM me if you’d like some stained glass greatness in your city

Steel skip, oriented strand board, wood, paint and ink
Baker & Borowski have created a gaudy caricature of a garden “growing” out of the jaws of a skip, a container that is typically used when we voraciously dismantle and renew our urban environment. The artists are the co-founders of two ongoing public art projects, SKIP Gallery, which turns skips into mini-art spaces and Graphic Rewilding, that come together to form this vibrant and maximalist installation @royal_sculptors
