Travel Town Museum (@traveltownmuseum) is free to visit and walk around. The train ride is a few bucks extra. Los Angeles Equestrian Center (@thelaec) often has events that are free and open to the public. Enjoy! As a little girl, I always dreamed of living in a community where I could ride my horse to my house, to school, and to the restaurants. 📍 Glendale Peak Hike in Griffith Park Start at the Roosevelt Golf Course parking lot and cross the street toward the playground, where you’ll turn right to find a discreet entrance to the trail. You’ll get great views of downtown LA and eventually make your way to the crest, where you can continue on to Glendale Peak, venture further down toward the Glendale side of the park, or just end the hike there and turn around. #lahikes #thingstodoinla #griffithpark

After 74 years, the beloved & historic Griffith Park Pony Rides will shut down this month. Animal activists have been a constant presence at the facility for more than a year, and the City Council decided to terminate the contract. Did you know that you can get to @griffithobservatory 🔭 through Ferndell park? 🌲 The West/East Observatory loop trail is about an hour and a half round trip and winds past the iconic observatory overlooking Los Angeles. It’s moderately steep, but otherwise short and pleasant! If you’re hittin’ the dusty trail be sure to pack lots of water; Los Angeles County has issued a heat advisory for the weekend, and we may see triple-digit temperatures in our valleys. 🥵 DRINK WATER.
