Easy (and free) way to test the light levels in your home.
Place a white piece of paper in front of the plant where you’ll test (this gives a clean background to see the shadow against)
- Hold your hand about 10cm above the paper, between the paper and the nearest useable light source, this can be a grow light or a window 🪟
- Look at the shadow your hand casts onto the paper
☀️ Sharp, crisp shadow = bright light
⛅️ Soft, fuzzy shadow = medium light
☁️ Faint or no shadow = low light
Of course sunlight changes throughout the day and seasons, but this is an easy way to test the lighting at any time, in any room, for any houseplant 🌿

This one is called a 🪴 Philodendron squamiferum & has the coolest fuzzy stems! ✨
The aerial roots don’t get crazy with this one and try to attach to the wall in my experience. But the leaves can get a bit sticky & need to be cleaned occasionally!

This took so long to print but it was so worth it. When I first saw this design I knew it was going to be such a cool project. I don’t know what I’m going to plant in here but I know it will be so fun to watch it grow. This grow pole was designed for the Barrina’s Orbgro grow light, it’s a perfect fit. Also, as the plant climbs I can print more segments for it, which I am really loving about these 3d printed moss poles. Now you have to help me decide what plant would be the best option for this. What is going is going in here? Let me know your thoughts🤗
