How we did it ⤵ 1. Pre production planning This shoot was unscripted. Unscripted sounds easy but it can fall apart fast. We had a loose structure, questions, and cue cards ready in case the convo slowed down or went off track. Worked with the marketing team to make sure everything flowed and didn’t get boring. 2. Walk through space You don’t always get to rehearse with talent on run and gun shoots, but we like to arrive early, test lighting, angles, and identify any issues before we start. 3. Reliable gear setup Use gear you’re comfortable with and know will last. Battery packs, versatile lens like a 24-70, high storage, portable lighting. We also switched setups quickly depending on the look and feel of each scene. Golf scenes → gimbal for a “broadcast”feel. Kitchen scenes → handheld for that raw, chaotic cooking show energy. 4. Flexible Mindset Be open, go with the flow, stay focused. That’s how you move fast without sacrificing quality. No Golf Carts Were Hurt In The Making Of This🚗😂 We had a collective mini heart attack on set for a lifestyle photo/videoshoot. @whyeddieg was feeling like Vin Diesel reversing his cart straight into mine. You can literally hear the panic from the entire crew thinking about our Sony fx3’s, Blackmagic pocket/ gimbal sitting in the back. Thankfully, the carts survived and all the gear is 100% safe.😂 Never a dull moment on set.
