How to choose foundation !👇🏽👇🏽
Ive tested soo many foundations over the years.
When looking for a foundation to add to your kit I like to look for specific characteristics like:
✅skinlike, light textures
➡️ especially closeup photography and film need an undetectable finish
❌ no ultra dewy/ matte finishes
➡️ Its super frustrating working against a product. Choose a natural, balanced finish as they are easiest to manipulate to achieve a specific look. Need it dewyer? Add more glow/ oil etc. More matte? Powder and blot!
OR! ➡️ carry both dewy and matte finishes to cater to different styles.
✅ Large shade range with good undertones
❌ dont buy all shades
➡️ do get darkest and lightest and skip shades inbetween. You can always mix the rest. Get 1+4, then mix 2&3. Highly recommend learning color correction to adjust the undertone to get it exact.
❌ avoid very expensive foundations
➡️ Especially starting out you dont want to spend 50/70+ on one bottle of foundation. Yes they are amazing but it is mostly on you! Remember to check for pro artist discount offers! 🫱🏽🫲🏾🫶🏽
✅ choose one thats suitable for all skin types
➡️ this way you’re able to use it on everyone without worrying about it being too drying/ oily or irritating. Obviously some formulas will work better on some skintypes than on others & you can always make it work. But just keep that in mind 🫶🏽
As always, choose your products to suit the style of your work. I prefer extremely natural looking skin, others like it flawless! Its all about your preference 💕
