This week, District 4 Councilman Ben Reynolds stopped by Mims Park to check out some exciting new upgrades. Using District 4 CIP funds, the City has added a new restroom and concession facility, along with major improvements to the athletic fields—creating a space families, athletes, and neighbors can truly enjoy. With the final walkthrough complete, everything is ready for the community. The Mobile City Council remains committed to investing in our parks and public spaces—because strong, well-maintained parks help build stronger neighborhoods and improve quality of life for all our residents.

📍 Harvest Green Park, Roseworthy — get down and check it out! Since coming onto Council in 2018, I’ve worked hard to influence a stronger focus on planning, investment, and delivery of new and upgraded parks right across our community. But let’s be honest — some of the playground designs we’re seeing from developers today are too simple, too safe, and lack imagination. One structure, minimal features… and that’s it. Our families deserve better. We should be pushing for playgrounds that are: ✔️ Unique ✔️ Fun-filled ✔️ Interconnected ✔️ Adventurous Spaces that spark creativity, challenge kids, and bring families together — not just tick a box in a development plan. It’s time to lift the standard and improve the designs for the future of our growing communities. #Roseworthy #Playford #CommunityFirst #BetterParks #FamilySpaces #GrowingCommunities #UrbanPlanning #Playgrounds #StrongerCommunities #LocalLeadership

From February’s State of the City, the “Activity and Wellness” video highlights how the City of St. George is investing your taxpayer dollars wisely — building places to move, play and connect. 🏞️ In 2025, we expanded 70+ miles of paved trails and refreshed playgrounds at five neighborhood parks. We also added new features that include the Vernon Worthen Park bandshell and Little Valley Skatepark. Watch the video to see what else we have done — and what’s coming! 🎥

This is exactly what I’ve been talking about: when government listens to the community it serves, and when neighbors come together to advocate for what they need and want, we create meaningful public spaces that show government can work. Rockdale Park will continue serving families with thoughtful, beautiful upgrades, including new features that make the park more accessible and welcoming for residents of all abilities. Bonus picture: The community garden is almost ready for spring planting!
