What’s the Distance Between These Hexagons’ Corners? Two regular hexagons with side lengths 3 and 4 are arranged in a specific manner. What’s the distance between their corners? At first glance, it seems tricky. But in this video, we apply properties of hexagons, angles, and the converse of the Subtended Angle Theorem to arrive at an elegant solution to this problem. A LEGO fidget build #brickbending I’d seen fidget toys like this, and I’d suspected I could build a (large) LEGO version. I used a four layer technique because my tan bricks were limited and I wanted maximum hexagons. Five layers would be sturdier, and just as fun. 😁 Also the smallest hexagon is under a LARGE amount of stress. I normally wouldn’t work that small, but I knew the whole design would look better if I could pull it off. An 11 or 13 stud side is much easier to build and has much less risk of stress lines or cracking. - For exclusive content, updates, and more, join our free community on Patreon. - For the full video (including the very satisfying twisting of this build) check out my YT channel. I brushed this golden honey onto my eyelid and watched it settle into the most perfect little hexagons. It melted, stretched, and shimmered with every stroke. It felt less like makeup… and more like liquid honey turning into art. 🍯🎨 #oddlysatisfying #satisfying #eyeshadowlook #fantasyasmr #honeyasmr

Using the @ddiin_design tool to build the hexagons for my tessellations. This tool lets you mark a central point and, from there, place a point at each vertex of the shape. Then, using a ruler, you extend the lines to create a hexagon in whatever size you need. It’s ideal if you’re used to cutting hexagons by markings rather than folds: with a single template, you get endless hexagon sizes. Vibrate a shallow pool of water at a specific frequency and the flat surface disappears. ⠀ In its place, repeating geometric patterns emerge out of nowhere. ⠀ Stripes. Hexagons. Squares. Even designs that look like alien blueprints. ⠀ These are called Faraday waves and they have been bending minds since Michael Faraday first described them in 1831. ⠀ A frequency generator vibrates the container vertically until the surface hits a critical threshold and becomes unstable. ⠀ The water responds at exactly half the driving frequency through a phenomenon called parametric resonance in cymatics research. ⠀ You push at one speed. The liquid answers at half that rate. ⠀ Change the frequency or amplitude and the entire pattern shifts and reorganizes into a completely different geometric form. ⠀ This same principle of visible sound and vibration technology shows up everywhere from vibrating wine glasses to alligator mating calls. ⠀ AI-powered simulation and machine learning models now use Faraday wave patterns to study fluid dynamics and material science at scale. ⠀ Robotics labs recreate these wave experiments with precision automation to test new acoustic engineering applications. ⠀ Nearly 200 years old and this physics phenomenon still drives cutting-edge tech innovation. ⠀ Does this make you trust science more or realize how little we still understand about nature? ⠀ Follow Aiteasy. The future is easier than you think. ⠀ #ArtificialIntelligence #Physics #TechReels #Engineering #MachineLearning
The honey forms a honeycomb pattern in water due to "memory" is a myth. It is actually a demonstration of physics, where viscosity and surface tension cause honey to form hexagonal, peaks-and-valleys patterns when stirred in water. Hexagons are the most stable, efficient shape for packing, which is why the pattern forms. If you shake it only forward and backward, you get lines; if you do it in all directions, you get hexagons. The hexagonal shape of the comb itself, made by bees, is driven by the energy efficiency of packing shapes without gaps.Because other viscous fluids do this, it is not a reliable method to determine if honey is pure.
