As we come to the end of the year I thought I would share my top posts of 2022…. This one is definitely one of the most popular! 🤩 . 💕Sewing hexies on with the machine can save so much time on your project and you get that lovely look at the same time. For this project I simply layered my front and back with batting, and then pinned the hexies on to hold them in place (some minor adjustments may need to be made as you go). Then I choose the decorative stitch I like, and start sewing them on! You can back stitch a couple of stitches before moving onto a new spot, to hold the ends securely. . 💕Pull your hexie box off the shelf and give it a try! . Stitching a Wildflower Wall Hanging is bringing so much joy this year. Here is a little update on my blocks so far, only three left to go and then I will be joining them together. A massive thank you to everyone who is stitching along with this project and if you want to join in too, it’s never too late as you can sign up using the link in my profile and there’s a waiting list for kits on my website too as I’m bringing them back in a month or so. #patchwork #handsewing #hexies

The final reel in this little series of how I sew English Paper Pieced hexies, is how and when I remove the papers. I didn’t mention, but the hexie papers that we provide in our kits are very robust and whilst they may be a little bent once they’ve been removed, if you pop them flat with a heavy book on top, they can definitely be used again. They even stand up to reusing after glue basting if you are a little careful not to over glue? Wishing you a little happiness in every stitch ♥️
