Himalayan Monal - Wings dipped in sunlight and painted by the Himalayas. 🪶✨
Watching these two Himalayan Monals together was an unforgettable moment. Just look at those colors — every movement feels unreal. 🌈✨ Known as the “nine-colored bird,” the Himalayan Monal looks even more magical in its natural paradise. Here at Koju Monastery, these birds live peacefully and safely, surrounded by mountains, silence, and faith — a place that truly feels made for them. . . . . #himilayanmonal #ninecoloredbird #natureinpeace #wildlifephotography #birdsofthehimalayas

Same mountain. Two mindsets. 🪶❄️ The Himalayan Monal is out here flashing unreal rainbow colors like it’s fashion week in the snow, while the Tibetan Snow Pheasant keeps its head down, calmly searching for food. Fun fact: the male monal’s bright feathers help attract females, but the snow pheasant’s soft, pale colors are perfect camouflage against rocky, icy ground. One wins with sparkle, the other wins with stealth. Nature shows us there’s more than one way to survive. #Birds #HimalayanMonal #SnowPheasant #Mountain #Birdwatching

Today was the last day of our Chopta tour. We had a very close sighting of the Himalayan Monal. We arrived just a few minutes early, right before it came close to the road. The Monal was up on the slope near the road, right at eye level. It looked around carefully, then crossed the road slowly. It stopped by the side and started feeding. Our guests lay down on the ground to take eye-level shots. The Monal stayed there for a long time and was very comfortable with us. Then one vehicle came by, and it jumped up the cliff. After the vehicle left, the Monal was back on the slope feeding. We watched very quietly and slowly – it was totally fine with us being there. This was one of the best moments for our guests. We were so happy for them and thanked god for this amazing close sighting. The Monal felt completely at ease around us.
