🦴🔥 HIP PAIN, BUTTOCK PAIN & BURNING DOWN YOUR LEG AFTER SITTING? 🔥
If your pain starts in the lower back, hip, or buttock and travels down the back of your thigh, the problem may not be your leg—it could be coming from your lower spine, SI joint, or sciatic nerve.
Common symptoms include:
✅ Buttock or hip pain
✅ Burning, tingling, or numbness
✅ Pain after prolonged sitting
✅ Discomfort walking, climbing stairs, or taking long strides
At Heal Better Feel Better Family Chiropractic, I evaluate the spine, pelvis, hips, and nerves to find the root cause—not just treat the symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments and personalized care can often help reduce nerve irritation, improve mobility, and get you back to doing what you love.

Can You Diagnose Your Hip Pain by Where It Hurts? 🤔
Pain in different parts of your hip can point toward different conditions:
1. Hip is locking or catching → Hip Labral Tear
2. Pain on the outside of the hip → Greater Trochanteric Bursitis
3. Deep buttock pain that may travel down the leg → Piriformis Syndrome
4. Front of the hip pain with sitting, squatting, or twisting → Hip Impingement (FAI)
5. Hip dropping or a limp when walking → Trendelenburg Gait (Glute Medius Weakness)
6. Pain over the outside of the hip that worsens with activity → Hip Abductor Tendinopathy
7. Pain near the dimples of your lower back or buttock → Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Pain
8. Pain when sitting directly on the “sit bone” → Ischial Tuberosity Bursitis
9. Deep groin pain with stiffness, especially in the morning → Hip Osteoarthritis
⚠️ Keep in mind: Pain location alone isn’t enough to make a diagnosis. Many hip conditions overlap, and pain can be referred from the lower back, pelvis, or even the knee. A thorough assessment by a healthcare professional is the best way to identify the true cause and guide the right treatment.
💪 The good news? Most hip conditions improve with the right rehabilitation program, focused on restoring mobility, improving strength, correcting movement patterns, and gradually returning you to the activities you enjoy.

Try it. Comment which toe won’t stay down for you.
Sit to stand, block between the knees, eyes on your feet. 3 points: big toe, pinky, heel. When one keeps coming off, it’s usually pointing me upstream, to a muscle that isn’t pulling its weight.
I watch for this with clients carrying hip pain, back pain, foot pain they’ve been chasing for months. The foot isn’t the whole story. It’s just where I can see the chain break.
Part 2 is the fix.

Most people only treat the area that hurts. But sometimes the body has a completely different story. In this video, we’re exploring a fascinating connection between the belly button and shoulder mobility. The belly button was once your primary connection point during development, and many manual therapy and traditional medicine systems view it as an important neurological and energetic center.
When this client’s shoulder felt restricted, instead of working directly on the shoulder, we gently stimulated a specific area around the belly button and then retested movement. The body works as one connected system. Sometimes the key to relieving pain isn’t where you feel it. It’s finding the hidden connection that’s creating the problem in the first place.
Shoulder pain is often connected to other areas of the body, which is why a full movement assessment can be so important. Many people dealing with neck pain, upper back pain, or shoulder stiffness are surprised to discover that the source of their discomfort isn’t actually where they feel the symptoms.
Manual therapy and bodywork can help reduce muscle tension, improve range of motion, and restore healthy movement patterns. By addressing fascia restrictions and muscle imbalances throughout the body, we can often improve mobility and flexibility while helping the nervous system feel safer and more regulated.
Poor posture, repetitive movement, old injuries, and chronic tension can all contribute to ongoing pain and limited function. A root cause approach focuses on body alignment, functional movement, and corrective exercise instead of simply chasing symptoms.
Whether you’re dealing with shoulder pain, neck stiffness, low back pain, hip pain, TMJ dysfunction, sciatica, or general movement restrictions, improving mobility can have a powerful effect on overall wellness and recovery.
Our goal is to help people move better, feel better, and get back to doing the things they love through holistic bodywork, fascia release, movement therapy, functional training, and injury prevention strategies that support long-term results.

A crossover gait happens when your feet land at or across the midline of your body with each stride.
Instead of running on two separate tracks, you’re essentially running on a tightrope.
This can contribute to recurring overuse running injuries like:
— IT band pain and tightness
— plantar fascia pain
— posterior tibialis tendinopathy (pain along inside of lower shin and into inside of foot and ankle)
— lateral hip pain (or what you may think is hip bursitis)
I often find that common contributors are:
— glute weakness
— decreased single leg control
— fatigue-related compensations
Here are 3 ways you can start to address it:
1️⃣Try to think of “railroad tracks,” not “tightrope.”
Your feet should land slightly wider than you think.
2️⃣ Increase your cadence.
A slightly quicker turnover often reduces the tendency to cross over.
3️⃣ Strength train.
Focus on glute med strength, single-leg stability, and core control to create a more efficient running stride.
Pro tip: Record yourself running from behind. Many runners are surprised to see how much crossover is happening without realizing it.
Small changes in mechanics can make a huge difference in efficiency, performance, and injury prevention.

Hip pain & stiffness? Save this 📌
Tight hips are sadly normalized in the modern world. And it makes sense why. Sit all day.
Train only in the sagittal plane. Never explore rotation. Avoid end ranges. That’s a perfect recipe for Tin Man hips.
Your hips are ball-and-socket joints. They’re built for rotation, flexion, extension, and fluid transitions between all of it. When you only train them in straight lines, you slowly lose access to what they were designed to do.
There’s no single magic stretch that fixes hip stiffness. There’s a missing skill: Owning the ranges your hips were designed to access.
If your hips feel tight, compressed, or restricted, start reclaiming these:
1️⃣ External Rotation
2️⃣ Internal Rotation
3️⃣ Flexion
4️⃣ Extension
When your hips regain mobility, everything changes. Less stiffness, better alignment, and smoother movement. Train your hips like they’re meant to move and they’ll start feeling the way they’re meant to feel. WHICH IS FREAKIN SWEET & BUTTERY BABY!
