Doubtless my readers have noticed that I am an era hopper (I’ve written Ancient Rome, 13th century, 16th century, 17th century and who knows when I’ll go next) but my historical novels have a unifying factor—I like to restore or rehabilitate women who have been erased or mis-represented in history. Historical fiction books are the books that got me back into reading after highschool, something so powerful and usually heart breaking about how these stories could have and might have actually happened in real life during history. My go to is usually WW1 and WW2.

I’ll believe it when I see it.
Seriously, there are so many amazing new hist fic titles coming out all the time. These new publishing hot takes come up all the time and 99% of them are pure hearsay.
And now I’m off to select a new read from my teetering (and ever-growing) pile of historical fiction novels. Most of them written in present tense, third-person POV.
