“Socialist bafflegab” That is what Trudeau’s former Liberal Treasury Board President called Trudeau’s tax on farmers, doctors, home builders, and small business people. Even Liberals know he’s not worth the cost.
As wildfires rage across the US, devastating homes and communities, one question is being asked more urgently than ever: Why are so many homes still being built with wood? At least 10 people have been killed by the fast-moving blazes tearing across the Los Angeles area, with many homes reduced to rubble, a stark reminder of the increasing wildfire threat. According to the National Association of Home Builders, nearly 90 per cent of US homes built in 2019 were wood-framed, despite the increasing frequency and severity of wildfires.
The Liberals’ Capital Gains Tax is an attack on business owners, farmers, home builders, doctors, and more! Even the former Liberal President of Treasury Board has called it a failure. Why are the Liberals still pushing their job-killing tax?

I don’t understand why Home builders don’t make this a industry standard! This downspout from the gutter goes directly into a drain. I absolutely love this design and idea. #homebuilding
The NDP is raising taxes on businesses for bookkeeping, accounting, security, and more. Home builders, seniors, and hard-working people are facing yet another increase. When government raises costs on businesses, goods, and homes, those costs get passed down to families. British Columbians deserve better. I am ready to lead on Day 1 to win back this province. Building codes should be driven by safety and affordability, not activist wish lists. Home builders are warning that constant code changes add cost and slow down construction, but the Liberal government won’t listen to the people who actually build homes. They listen to activist groups they think will help them win votes.
Some people just aren’t cut out to be home builders, and that’s okay.

We’re in a housing crisis, and the Conservatives want us to spend less on housing. They want to raise taxes on home builders. They oppose supports for Canadians who do not have a home. They would gut investments in affordable housing. They are not worth the risk.
Trump’s tariffs on Mexico and Canada will drive up construction costs, and his mass deportation plans will gut the workforce—a double whammy that will make the housing crisis even worse. I pressed the Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders on how these reckless policies will hurt home affordability and supply.
