Squamish, British Columbia is famous for its stunning scenery along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, its vibrant arts scene, diverse culture, and natural landmarks like Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls, blending rugged adventure with community spirit.
Just about an hour from Vancouver, you’ll find the iconic Stawamus Chief hike in Squamish, and this breathtaking view 😍🏔️
If you’re hiking to the first peak (there are three in total), this is your reward at the top! The trail begins with a forested path, followed by a steady climb up wooden stairs. As you gain elevation, it transitions into a more rugged, natural trail, and near the summit, you’ll use chains anchored into the rock to help you climb safely.
It might look intimidating, but for the average hiker with a decent fitness level, it’s absolutely doable 💪
Pro tip: Pack light, wear proper trail shoes (it can get slippery), and bring snacks to enjoy at the top while soaking in those unreal views over Howe Sound 🌊✨
Don’t forget to like and follow for more adventures! Have you ever hiked in Squamish? Let me know in the comments 👇🌎

I’ll never get tired of seeing the Stawamus Chief on the drive from Whistler to Squamish 🤯
Most people drive straight past this town on the way to Whistler… and honestly, they’re missing out 🚠🏔️🚘
Squamish has The Chief for world-class hikes and views, the Sea to Sky Gondola for easy-access alpine scenery, waterfalls like Shannon Falls and Mamquam Falls, and a seriously good brewery scene for post-hike beers.
It’s a perfect day trip from Vancouver, or worth staying a night if you like your mountain towns with fewer crowds.

Moved to Canada and my coffee breaks got a serious upgrade ☕️🇨🇦
Just outside Vancouver along the Sea to Sky Highway, this short but kinda spicy hike up to Quercus Lookout in Squamish delivers unreal views over Howe Sound ⛰️😍
It’s not a whole day activity but a good option if you’re after a short hike with amazing payoff! Especially as a day trip from Vancouver.

If you’ve been craving a little day trip, Squamish is the perfect place. It’s less than an hour away, and you can even get there without a car by taking the Squamish Connector (@squamishconnector)! It picks you up near Waterfront Station, and drops you right in downtown Squamish.
‼️ A few helpful tips if you’re not driving your own car:
1. Use local buses! Just remember they run less frequently than Vancouver, so plan accordingly. For bus passes, download the Umo App.
2. Since Squamish is small, Ubers can take a while.
3. Local taxis are an option, too.
