Just a short demonstration of hashtag#blender3D for hashtag#cinematography and hashtag#lighting hashtag#previsualization for a music video I am shooting in a few weeks.
It's not super in depth nor is this accurate 1:1 for the shot, but I often use blender for rough ins of what my lighting setups will be and what my contrast ratios will be. Blender doesn't have any accurate light power output so metering for IRL isn't really possible. I know there are platforms that do this though and am fully interested in exploring them at some point.
But Blender is free and fast, so I wanted to demo how it can be used for previs.
Once the project is complete I think doing a side by side of the previs to principle would be fun.
You can make this with a couple of clicks.
HeroShot deploys production-ready camera rigs directly in your Blender sidebar. No keyframes. No graph editor. Just click, preview live, and render.
10 rigs. Full easing control. Built-in sequencer. NO GRAPH EDITOR HELL
Free trial includes a full cinematic rig with all controls unlocked, no restrictions. See exactly what HeroShot does before you decide.

Blade Runner 2049 – Binocular Asset (Refined Study)
I revisited this model and made minor improvements to the existing topology and edge flow.
In Foundry Mari, I reworked parts of the existing textures by transferring previous texture information and refining them using smart masks, adding subtle dirt and dust variations to improve surface breakup.
For presentation, I used a look development and lighting setup based on @cave_academy resources (LookDev Props 1003 / HDRI Studio Set 1003).
The asset is based on Rick Deckard’s binoculars from Blade Runner 2049.

This Cyberpunk street looks “okay” in the viewport…
but the FINAL RENDER hits completely different ⚡🌆
If you’re into Blender, you already know this feeling 👀
In the viewport — it’s fast, responsive, and just enough to build your scene
But in the render — the neon glows, reflections bounce, fog breathes… and suddenly it feels real 😮✨
👉 Viewport = Workflow & Speed
👉 Render = Atmosphere & Reality
All those hours tweaking lights, materials, and composition…
they don’t truly show until you hit that render button 💯
For 3D artists, this is the moment —
when a simple scene turns into a cinematic frame 🎬🔥
If you’re learning Blender or already deep into 3D…
don’t judge your work too early. Trust the render 🙌
Because in cyberpunk worlds —
lighting IS everything 💡💥
Blender artists, you feel this or not? 😏👇

I had so much fun animating this. He wasn’t originally going to spit on the bug but my inner thoughts took control🤣

I keep thinking the same thing every time I use photogrammetry assets: Octane is where they really belong.
With the right lighting, all that raw detail and those tiny imperfections suddenly feel alive and photorealistic.
And now I can’t stop thinking about it… I’m seriously tempted to make a short that mimics stop motion using Blender + Octane.
