Most students graduate without knowing this properly. Also, many companies prefer candidates who have done some PV training or certification. It’s not always mandatory, but it definitely increases your chances. Another thing people don’t talk about — Excel and documentation skills matter a lot. A big part of PV work is handling safety data and writing case reports clearly. Location also matters. Most Pharmacovigilance jobs are in Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. So be mentally prepared for relocation. And yes, your first salary might only be around ₹2.5–4 LPA. That’s normal for freshers in this field. Try to get internships if possible, and start building a LinkedIn network with people already working in Pharmacovigilance. Referrals genuinely help. Also learn about PV software like Argus or VigiFlow if you get the chance. It gives you an edge. And I’ll be honest — many freshers apply to 50–100 jobs before they get their first opportunity. But once you enter the field and gain experience, growth in Pharmacovigilance can actually be pretty solid. Just don’t go into it blindly. Understand the field first, then prepare for it.
