Since 2014, @iklectikartlab has been a grassroots hub for experimental art and music, fostering a creative community and collaborating with boundary-pushing artists from around the world.
Following the recent eviction from their Waterloo space, the creative platform has launched a crowdfunder to propel it into its next chapter. Founder Eduard Solaz talks to us about the space, reshaping its future and what makes creative platforms like IKLECTIK so special.

First London LIVE performance of my new album 'Dark Lights' on Thursday 28th May, at @iklectikartlab , Peckham Levels.
I’ll be performing live electronics alongside a 10-piece chamber orchestra. This show also marks my return to IKLECTIK for the first time in four years, and my first time performing in their new venue at @peckhamlevels - We will play the entire album of ‘Dark Lights’ for the first time in the UK.
This work can be seen as a kind of “baroque/classical dance suite for the 21st century,” drawing on contemporary dance forms much like Couperin or Bartók did in their respective eras.
So we hear the sonics & rhythms of Acid House, Rare-groove, Hip-hop collaged against flourishes of classical piano, bursts of virtuosic strings, and legato clarinets. This collision of electronics & classical creates a “meeting point of machine and human,” juxtaposing the robotic energy of sequenced electronics with the organic freedom of live orchestral players.

Big thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign so far, encouraged and believed in us. Much love from IKLECTIK ❤️🙏❤️
Great memories of my live show at the wonderful @iklectikartlab in London who have always been so supportive for so many artists. This is a tiny excerpt of a 50 mins live show. I was amazed at how the live radio broadcasts I picked up fitted almost perfectly each time! A longer version is viewable on my YouTube channel which Google will help you find if you wish 😁
