Most students fear Audit in CA Final not because they don’t study, but because they miss some hacks.
Here’s exactly how I managed to score 65 in one of the toughest papers (arranged in their order of priority):
1. Chase the chapters with guaranteed marks first. Digital Audit, ESG Assurance, and Professional Ethics easily give you 15–20 marks. Sometimes more.
2. Professional Ethics is non-negotiable. I solved every single ICAI question in this chapter, using Atul Agarwal’s compiler.
3. Don’t ignore the new SAs, SAEs, and Quality Control. These chapters in Module 2 (ch 8–11) can make or break your marks.
4. Pick and choose from the mid-weight chapters. I did 4 chapters thoroughly out of Group Audit, Bank/NBFC, PSU, Internal Audit, and Due Diligence.
5. Old SAs at last (i.e. SA 200 - 800). I only touched them through Atul Agarwal’s notes. Nothing else. You never know what will be asked from where out of this sea.
6. Stick to one source. Jumping across multiple faculties/notes does not help.
And 2 underrated hacks: (a) Memorize all the back questions in ICAI material and (b) Read the question bank compiler twice or thrice. Even when the exact question doesn’t show up, the phrasing clicks something in your head.
That’s the roadmap I used.
Note: Chapter names are shortened here to keep the post short. Each mention means the full chapter.
Disclaimer: This is the strategy that worked for me — not a universal formula. I won’t tell you to skip chapters; in Audit, every chapter pulls its weight one way or another. So instead of copying anyone’s plan blindly, see what’s worked for multiple students, pick out the patterns that repeat, and build your own version from there.
