Today’s focus with Mikey Williams was building more explosive power by improving how quickly he can absorb and produce force. We used plyometrics, heavy Hex Bar Deadlifts, Split Lunges, and Isometrics to develop power, stability, and strength that transfers directly to the court. 🏀⚡️

Maximal isometrics. Highly effective. Use with caution.
Most athletes skip isometrics because they look too simple.
But simple doesn’t mean easy.
A good iso can build tendon capacity, joint control, positional strength, and better force absorption without needing a complicated setup.
These are the type of exercises that don’t always look flashy, but they make your body more prepared for real athletic movement.

• Isometrics: 2–3 sets × 30–45 sec
• Sprints: 2–4 sets × 20–40 yards
• Depth Jumps: 2–4 sets × 1 rep off an 18–30” box
• Heavy Squats: 2–4 sets × 3–6 reps
• Single-Leg Hamstring Curl: 2–4 sets × 4–8 reps each leg
• Single-Leg Calf Raise: 1–2 sets × 5–8 reps each leg
• Supermaximal Calf Raise: 1–2 sets × 3–5 reps each leg — two legs up, one leg down
Prioritize max intent and quality reps, not just doing more volume.

Aka Jumpers Knee and sometimes referred to as Runners Knee.
Pain here occurs when the load on the tendon exceeds its capacity. Often from a sudden increase in tendon demands (e.g. Higher intensity, volume or frequency of impact/load).
You can rest it at first, but rest WILL NOT fix tendonitis. Start with Isos, into heavy eccentrics, into heavy slow loading, into plyos and compliment with accessory leg exercises (e.g. Calf, Hamstrings, Glutes). Don’t move through these too quickly, listen to your body and pain levels.
