Janarek season has hit Australia and I’m here for it!
But at $60 a kilo, I’m hoping prices reduce very soon…

Every spring I wait to get my hands on these sour plums 🍈✨ I first had them when I was living in Turkey, where they’re called erik, and I’ve been hooked ever since. They’re crisp, super tart, and usually enjoyed simply with a sprinkle of salt, it brings out the flavor in the best way. This snack is popular across many countries, including Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, Middle East and beyond. #sourplum #sourplums #erik #gojehsabz #janarek

Not your typical May seasonal produce guide 🤭
Don’t overlook these underrated spring produce gems! Both have long been a favorite springtime snack in the Middle East. Sour green plums, also known as janarek, are rich in Vitamin C, while fresh green almonds are rich in healthy fats and protein. Both are deliciously tart and crisp.
Have you tried these before?
