Meet Georgia ๐Ÿ’› Georgia has Wilms tumor and she recently celebrated her 6th birthday. CLF4Kids was honored to help make her day extra special with a Birthday Box. Her mom shared: โ€œShe loved everything in it. She was so excited to get a present in the mail. She loved all the items, but I think the card was her favorite. Sheโ€™s been walking around, opening it, and singing with it since she got it. You brought a big smile to her face today for her birthday. Today we celebrated our Mac turning 6! She continues to blow us away each day with her determination, strength, and positive attitude! Procedures are scary, but Child Life Specialists are the armor our kids wear. For Trin, spinal taps and blood work were a heavy part of her regular routine, but she never had to face them alone. Whether it was the vibrating "Buzzy Bees" to take the sting away, a cuddly friend to squeeze, or an iPad to transport her to another world, these specialists knew exactly what she needed. They didn't just support her; they held our hands, too. But the real magic happened after the brave work was done. Trin lived for that celebratory wagon ride through the halls or the simple joy of a victory Popsicle. Those small rewards turned a day of "pokes" into a day of triumph. Yesterday was a truly magical day. I had the honor to meet a true super hero, Sweet and Sassy 4 year old Brinley. She is 138 day into waiting for her new heart. She has been in the hospital since Halloween last year. So many people helped send items for her Sparkle Box that it took two boxes and a wagon to get everything to her room! It was the first time I got to hand deliver one of my boxes and meet the recipient! What I thought was going to be a quick drop off and visit turned into a two hour play date with such an amazing super hero of a kid! We played with some of the new games, colored some of the scrubbie puppies, and played with modeling dough. I even partnered with Kyra from Pet Partners to really make the visit special for Brinley. I will never forget how grateful she was for everything and how excited she was to just spend time with another kid. I can't wait to go back and see her again in a few weeks! She is such a brave little girl just waiting for a chance to love her life fully with a new heart!
