Kansas City might be quietly leveling up into World Cup central ⚽🌍
Multiple outlets are reporting that England, Netherlands, Algeria, and reigning champs Argentina are planning to base their 2026 World Cup training camps right here in the KC metro.
Nothing is officially confirmed by FIFA yet, but if this holds, it’s a big deal. Base camps mean weeks of teams, media, fans, and global attention living in KC, not just passing through for match day. That’s hotels booked, restaurants packed, and Kansas City showing up on screens all over the world.
KC is already hosting six World Cup matches. Add the defending champions training here and suddenly we’re not just a host city, we’re the hub.
World Cup energy is getting very real. 👀

So back in December I did something wild… I tried out to be a FIFA World Cup volunteer. And now I’m finally showing it off because KC is hosting SIX World Cup matches this summer — Argentina, Algeria, Ecuador, Curaçao, Tunisia, the Netherlands, AND Austria at Arrowhead.
And KC isn’t just hosting games… we’ve got FOUR national teams basing here — Argentina, England, the Netherlands, and Algeria.
As I’m showing this, look at the FIFA Volunteer Center at Union Station — a 14,000‑square‑foot World Cup playground with memorabilia, games, and the selfie stations everyone’s gonna be obsessed with.
Tech N9ne gave us our own soundtrack, the city’s buzzing, and we’re expecting over 650,000 visitors. Local businesses — KC2026 has the Game Plan so we can show the world where to eat, sleep, shop, and explore.
The world is literally basing itself in KC… and we’re READY.
