Kelowna, we’re asking for your voice. Nominations are open for Best of Kelowna 2026, and we would be honoured to be named Best Local Charity and Best Non-Profit Organization. Every day, families come to us carrying more than they should have to carry alone. Groceries they can’t afford. Bills that won’t stop. Kids who need more than a stretched budget can give. And every day, this community makes it possible for us to show up for them. Quietly. Consistently. Without hesitation. That’s what this nomination is really about. If Mamas for Mamas has supported you, stood beside someone you love, or built something you believe in, this is your moment to stand with us. Nominate us for Best Local Charity and Best Non-Profit Organization. It takes less than a minute, and it means more than we can say. Nominations close Sunday, April 13 at 3:00 PM. https://bestof.kelownanow.com/nominations/ Because the families we serve deserve to be seen. And so does the community that refuses to look away. And while you’re there, nominations are open for local businesses too. If you would like us to nominate a business that has shown up for this community, drop their tag in the comments below. We would love to pay it forward. #BestOfKelowna #KelownaNow #MamasForMamas #Kelowna

Challenging sites demand meticulous planning. That’s where our process makes the difference. 🏗️ This Christina Lake build has come together through detailed pre-construction planning, precise phasing, and engineered solutions, all implemented long before excavation began. From retaining walls to complex grade changes, our pre-construction contract ensures risks are identified early, budgets are realistic, and every step is intentional. Great homes aren’t improvised, they’re planned. #LUXHomes

Carbon taxes should target the source of pollution—big industries—not the everyday British Columbian. Under the current NDP structure, it's the people who bear the brunt of the cost, while the industries responsible for the majority of carbon emissions in BC face minimal accountability. There’s a better way. We have the tools to restructure this system so that the financial burden is placed where it belongs: on the polluters. It's time for an overhaul that ensures the benefits of carbon pricing reach the people, not just the pockets of big corporations.
