Cardboard Loom Weaving Earth Day Heart 🌎
We combined some of our green and blue yarn to make these Earth Day hearts on a cardboard loom! I have a template and full instructions for this weaving project available on my Etsy!
I cut notches along the top and bottom of a cardboard heart and wrapped yarn around the cardboard and behind the tabs. I cut a popsicle stick on one end, just to split the wood, to hold the yarn for weaving. Once you reach the top you can pull the yarn off the loom and you have your cloth!

Embroidered Cardboard Sun ☀️
Using this sun template, I punched holes around a circle of cardboard. Then Rosie and Mae embroidered the sun with a yarn needle!

The easiest DIY ever and one I’ll be so thankful to have someday. 🎄
Simply measure your child with ribbon and insert the ribbon into a clear glass ornament and insert the top back on. Then use a craft or acrylic marker to write their name and the year on the ornament and hang on the tree.
I hope those of you who don’t have the bandwidth for labor intensive crafts finds this useful for this Christmas, or next 🎄

It’s raining crayon colours! The wax of a crayon melts when hot, but what will happen in water? This exciting science experiment shows you what happens when you mix wax crayons with hot water. Choose your colours and try this experiment for yourselves!
⭕ Materials:
- Hot water
- Glass or clear cup
- Crayons
⭕ Instructions:
(1) Fill a glass with hot water.
(2) Carefully place your crayons into the water and shake.
(3) Watch how the crayons begin to melt and see what happens next.
Are there bubbles? Are they floating or sinking? Are the colours mixing? What do the crayons look like before and after?
Traded Mud Pies for Flower Bouquets 🌸
Five years ago I made this mud kitchen from a couple pallets and rummage sale finds. And it brought muddy, messy, fun.
But after that many years of cleaning dirt-covered clothes and filling holes dug in the yard to collect “ingredients”, I decided it might be time for a (less stressful) upgrade.
Enter: the Dollar Tree.
With $40 worth of fake flowers, pots, stones, foam and some hot glue I was able to transform our mud kitchen into a flower shop where the girls can make their very own bouquets.
And boy is it a HIT!
Our little flower stand is the first thing they ask to play with every day. They head outside and build new bouquets and we pick our favorites to bring inside each night 💐
No stand necessary, this is a fun activity you could easily repeat all summer long!

Cardboard Loom Woven Hat ❄️ Using cardboard to create a hand woven winter hat! I cut notches around the top and bottom of a piece of cardboard cut into a dome shape, then wrapped yarn around the tabs of the cardboard. Once you are done weaving you can pull the yarn off the loom and you have a hat shaped cloth. I sewed two together using a blanket stitch and put a pom-pom on top! #kidcraft #easycraft #cardboardcrafts #diygift
