Yesterday the OSW crew hit the road to spread some love, hope, and joy with one of our amazing partners in Pennsylvania! The Kindness Project provides brand new clothing, shoes, personal care items, baby supplies, makeup, toys, books and accessories to children in foster care in a beautiful setting. Referrals are made through local organizations and child welfare agencies and foster families can shop their store all year long. One Simple Wish has been partnering with The Kindness Project to grant wishes for items and experiences that can’t be found in store We absolutely love them and all they do! I can’t believe he did that ! 🥹😭❤️ We were out shooting the other day for my latest project and happened to catch the most beautiful moment on camera 😍 I was taken off guard when one of the street sellers flagged me down as I was in the middle of making a U-turn. He was pleading for a selfie. He had the biggest smile on his face and was full of enthusiasm. We continued with the flow of traffic but had to re-route and take another U-turn around due to traffic. I wasn’t sure if I would see the same guy, but I kept a look out. To my surprise he was waiting at the side of the road happily waving me down. I get asked for selfies everyday…. It’s nothing special…. But this felt different. He had a slight limp and was carrying a big bag. In a hurry, he scampered towards me. Abdullah Wahab he introduced himself as, and excitably took out his phone for a picture. As I looked closely at the screen, I noticed he used a special filter, with a sign that said “happy international Women’s day”. My heart immediately melted. I gave him my card, he was so thrilled. He asked, “how are you”, and left a lasting gift in my heart. This right here, was the most precious moment. Year 6 students immersed themselves in the Kindness Project yesterday! This included a special curriculum, centred around understanding kindness.
