Whenever I share tutorials or techniques I get a lot of questions about how exactly I tension my yarn for ~my version~ of continental knitting. I started as a crocheter (one baby blanket!) which familiarized me with holding my yarn in my left hand, so when I learned to knit, I found it really challenging to try and hold my yarn any other way. I think a lot of people value continental knitting for its speed, but I also believe it’s quite ergonomic. If you are interested in learning to knit with this technique, I highly highly recommend it (and let me know, I can make a few more reels sharing knit/purl/etc) - but if you’re thrower/picker/other type of knitter and you’re thinking of switching - I recommend starting a second project or swatch where you work solely in continental, and build this new muscle memory consistently and slowly. As always, however you’re looping your yarn around a couple of needles and getting your fabric made thats working for you- is best :) I am working on my Staple Sweater by @knitwork___ with @langyarns_official Yak - a super soft blend of 70% merino & 30% yak, in color 1103.0199. Gifted* I’m knitting with my @skacelknitting @addi_by_selter interchangeable needles - they’re the smoothest and fastest in my knitting needle collection and the combination with this yarn is truly something to be experienced! #knitting #sweaterknitting #knittingtutorial #strikk #strikke
