💻 Is this really the 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? We’re all bombarded with news about AI tools, agents and vibe-coding / no-code platforms 😅 There’s some truth to what the promise, but there’s also a lot of BS ... here’s how I see it: 1️⃣ 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲: Many people are getting into AI because it’s trendy and they want to win something (usually - money) ... heck, I just saw ads from Tony Robins today for some seminar about AI. Really? They’re riding every wave: blockchain, AI, maybe VR next. Check the person, not just what they’re presenting, and you’ll notice it too. 2️⃣ 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁: You know I’m a full-time mobile developer for 10 years (if not, hey there 👋), and I’ve been writing lots of code. Lately I’ve been actively trying to use AI more and more, not complicated stuff, just classic ChatGPT or Junie, they are easy to use and have great results for specific tasks. You have to: - know what to ask for - evaluate their responses - do real work, not vibe coding 3️⃣ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? Probably, but not entirely. I still don’t think you can vibe-code apps and products that pass the test of time and thousands of users. IMO, we’ll be able (and have) to write code faster, think less about easy stuff like mappers, serialization, and focus our attention towards high-level understanding of a software product or app. 💬 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: What’s your opinion on this?
